Umm so on the Zpoc weapon of choice discussion, about halfway through a bunch of people start saying that it takes 1 shot to the head to kill a zed with any gun including .22lr.  Ok so I've been told .22s flip instead of spiral and that's why they bounce around in the skull or even chest.  So my point is we aren't really saying they are dead until their head either has no brain (from a bullet passing through) or their skull isn't recognizable anymore right?

a 22 is so puny let me shoot you with my M&P at 100 yards and we will c if you still think its puny lol Also as i have said before a 22lr isnt my only weapon in a z apoc its just 1 of the few lol
In a Zpoc ima be carring more than 2 guns. Im going to have at least 3 handguns and 2 long guns....the reason id have so many weapons vs supplies is I plan on having more than 1 person in my group so the load of supplies can be split. As well as if you dnt have guns and a good defense ur good as dead anyway and im all down for melee weapons but im not trying to slash n hack my way through countless zombies cuz wit my luck ill get sum zed blood in my eye n ill turn haha
Sorry been busy all day lol.  So I'm gonna agree with Prime by saying that if nothing else the .22 is good when there is nothing else.  I will venture to say that 2-3 shots through the eye of a zed with a .22 won't send it to hell.  I will also say that I think a 9mm would do the job in 2 shots or 1 with a hollowpoint and anything bigger than a 9 would do the job in 1 shot.  So from what I've seen in the movies a .22lr fits somewhere between throwing a rock and kissing your ass goodbye.  AND 9mm is the most common handgun caliber in the US and probably the world, it's been around for over 100 years and I'd venture to say has been used to kill the most people in the US.  I'm not saying this to say the 9mm is the best weapon around but I am saying it's better than a .22.
I'll probably have a 9 on me at all times and 2 rifles that I alternate depending on the situation, both prob 7.62 in rifle and bullpup configuration.  Unless I stumbled upon a 9mm carbine.  The reason I like the 9 is because it's light and available and typically mags hold more of em.

If you can do this at those ranges im pretty sure you can penetrate a skull especially after multiple shots.

Ya the guy is a certified marksman and runs a gun safety and training courses in the middle of cali. So needless to say he knows a thing or 2 about guns.
Yes my zombie info is based off of movies...

LOL. Gents, I've been a Police Officer for 21 years and a firearms trainer for 15. Now if all things are equal I suppose you'd have no problem staring down my 5.56 NATO. All things being equal! Which they aren't.

Answer me this quizzlings, if the .22lr is such a bad ass round why do no military units in the world use it as their main caliber? Why do no police departments use it for anything but killing varmints? Yes, the .22lr is everywhere. It is cheap and you can carry a lot. In a stressfull situation most normal people forget to take the safety off let alone remember shooting basics. If you have someone on the range every day with a specialized .22lr rifle then they might make those long shots on moving targets. MIGHT.You've got to see the big picture. Well, maybe you don't.

Maybe you dont....no1 said the 22lr was superior to the 5.56 cuz its not...you cant even compare the balistics. Of course in a fight against anything LIVING I would want a 5.56. Of course military and police dont use it cuz its a small weak round with no stopping power but as ive been saying with a zombie why do you need crazy amounts of stopping power when all you need is 1 quick clean shot to the head and ur problem is solved. Your talking about the 5.56 being better in general and your right it is. If some1 pulled an AR-15 on me and said freeze id be more likely to shit my pants vs a Ruger 10-22. The 5.56 defenately has the intimidation factor but lets not forget Zombies dont feel fear!!!!! A zombie doesnt care if you have a rock or submachine gun it still had 1 goal..get close to you grab you and eat you. So you can take your big 5.56 and try and scare the living dead, while im plinkin heads like cans from 100 yards :)

And I believe I've said, "Not everyone can make those shots." Some folks can hit center mass which is standard. If I can't end it then I want it dragging aits leg or picking itself up off the ground as I get my ass outta dodge or to a place I can better defend or give me time to get up closer and deal with it in a less dangerous manner.

The big picture isn't always what I can do based on years of training. It is what can those around me who don't have that training do.

Yeah, I think you're gonna need all those bullets. 22
