1 Hitter Quitter .22?

Umm so on the Zpoc weapon of choice discussion, about halfway through a bunch of people start saying that it takes 1 shot to the head to kill a zed with any gun including .22lr.  Ok so I've been told .22s flip instead of spiral and that's why they bounce around in the skull or even chest.  So my point is we aren't really saying they are dead until their head either has no brain (from a bullet passing through) or their skull isn't recognizable anymore right?

My problem with that is one simple thing. If everything spreads like an infection eventually their will be a big loss of power. I wonder how long that can be sustained.

The nano bots Ive read about in science medicine journals all require power in order to operate. One journal said that they will enter the body and do their job, then be passed through the intestinal tract. It said that eventhough their microscopic, they will infact run out of power at some point.

 

So how long can that be sustained? Once they run out of juice, they goes your dead zombies. Thats why I think a mutated virus is the logical path for a zpoc to happen. Then you get back to what I was saying about the body, and how it requires blood to function.

Its not about the pain factor, when it comes to blood moving their body. Its about blood loss. Simple physics states that more volume will leave a bigger hole. Translation to a zombie, or a person for that matter is this. The more damage caused by a projectile, the more blood loss that is going to occur. Thats simple trauma 1 in any medical text book. Doctors, medics, nurses, sergeons it all boils down the same way. Im not saying a smaller caliber isnt capable of it. Ive ran calls where some gang banger shot a guy with a small .22, or .25 caliber and its hit a bone traveling up into vital organs. It can happen its just statistically not probable for smaller calibers to kill that way. Not eveyone out there, even expert shooters are capable of consistant head shots. Most people though, can hit a target center mass even when they are flustered and nervous.

 

Ive stated before though, I dont plan on relying on my firearms. I plan on getting away from danger, and fleeing as much as possible. If I do have to use a weapon, I just have more faith in a larger caliber.

Not only blood loss James but if the body structure can't support the weight of the infected then it will not be able to move normally. A shattered knee can turn a once mobile zed a crawler. Cause enough damage to the spine and nothing below the waist is any use.

again current technology, that's why in my first i said that they most likely be powered by static electricity generated by the movement of the zombie. weve all gotten static shocks before, now to a microscopic machine that small charge would more then enough to power it. that's if they are even mechanical at that stage. imagine an organically based machine. basically something like a man made virus that would function as a machine. always remember, "Any significantly advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."

The body needs blood movement in order to move. Its that simple man, there is no magic trick that can change that. Most likely zombies will be sick people, maybe completely brain dead. Never the less you are correct sick people.

 

I have a kid, and if it means I have to shoot sick people. Absolutely with no regrets I will shoot any infected person that comes near my son. I wont think twice about it, or lose a seconds sleep over it.

 

The idea of trying to out run a horde of zombies is rediculous. I wont be anywhere near a horde. If you have to run from a horde there was absolutely no planning on your part.

All I'm sayin is that a hole the size if a baseball is more likely to put down a zed than one the size of a grape.  Guys, it's pretend we may as well be doing zed based LARP.

Kandyman I wasnt posting something like that trying to start a arguement with you or anyone else. Max has consistantly started arguements with myself, and 3 other memebers. I think we're all just trying to ignore him now.

Zombies are fiction. Ballistics are not. I don't even know what an LARP is. I've said it in several other threads. Preparing for a Zpoc is the fun way of preparing for any disaster. The basics are the same. When the SHTF you you determine which way you need to go as in bug in or bug out.

LARP is live action roleplay...i may or may not have been in one from this picture....with airsoft you can do a zombie based one....
