So we all love to sit around and talk about where we go for the next zombie outbreak:
`Lets go to Costco.`
`Lets go to Big 5 they have guns there!`
But stop and think for a minute. In the event of an emergency where people are being evacuated or under attack, EVERYONE is going to need supplies and weapons. This means that places like Walmart or Costco or even Liqour stores are going to be cleaned out.
Also, where would you hold up assuming you do have supplies? The High School? The police station? A store? Ohs ure, nobody else will think of that.
How about getting to a location? Streets? Freeways? Its not like there will be any traffic will there? And its not like the military wont be blocking roads or enforcing Marshal Law.
In the situation of infection, you will soon learn that the zombies will be the least of your troubles.
So What do you do?
Where do you get supplies?
Where are you gonna go?
How are you gonna get there?
Think about all the factors (besides zombies) that will hinder it.

yeah actualy thats a very good idea!
The only thing i could think of as criticism is the escape plan. (Which pretty much affects everywhere)
Few entries mean few exits. And always remember there will always be bor Zs With enough of them they could get into anywhere.
But actualy its one of the best places to go....
Ill make that one of my places. =-)
well main problem...and I've concidered how I would go about fortifying factories while I was at work...have to do something to keep myself occupied.

Is that most factory districts usualy have some factories and wearhouses that have some pretty toxic chemicals stored in them.

and with all the over hunting in the us. well worldwide. most of the wildlife menu would be pretty slim.

but would be a great place if there are only a few zombies. or low level outbreak
I'm not sure where you are from but I have not heard about any overhunting of wild game in my neck of the woods...

As far as edible wildlife goes, pretty much everything is edible, including skunk (but why would you do that to yourself...)

Truth be told, in Maine there is plenty of wildlife to go around. Then again, I do talk a lot about how great a place Maine would be if there was a Zombie Apocalypse...hmmm, maybe there are no natural resources here that others can use to survive, ahhh, yeah that's it, just stay out of Maine, shit I just saw one outside, a zombie, that's right. I think it's my neighbor "Ed"...

Oops, Ed wasn't a zombie after all, just sleepwalking. The Police are on the way...nevermind about Maine...unless of course you want to help a brother out of prison?
How about a prison, it's damn near a modernized castle. Perimeter fences, food stores, generators (I know, I know, they won't last forever...) By ACA standards all doors must be keyed so you have multiple, accessible rooms to house people. The walls are strong and usually (at least in Maine) they are not in major metropolitan areas. In the larger prisons there is usually riot gear and weapons of various types.

If you don't work inside or there are already survivors inside that don't want company you might be screwed for teh effort of getting there but hey, I'm just suggesting...
I think the hardest part of the outbreak would be getting yourself thru all of the vehicles and people trying to escape. Each person will have there own idea of where they wan't to go. It would be chaos. I would stock up on ammunition and canned food and head for the hills. Setup camp in the mountains. I feel a populated area with streets, cars, lights, people would be a zombies main focus.

While you are in the woods you can setup to stay in trees, or better yet a cave situation. Just make sure you have lots of bullets, matches and spam.
Perfect!!!
For those of us living near the mountains or a forrest should absolutely take advantage of it. forget cars and hoof it if you have to, it may be an advantage.
Animals, water, low population.
All you need is some basic knowledge on how to survive in the wild.
(We can watch Man Vs. Wild for that! =-P)
I suppose a big problem would be if order still remained.
If you try to take supplies from your local grocery store, say the people call the cops on you... and they come. For whatever reason.
Then what? Your barricading yourself in your home may turn into a standoff with the police... unless they're preoccupied by zombies.
However, if its a realitively small outbreak or has just begun...
yeah we should all asume that all order is gone. if there still stands a government or even a military, to tell the truth i would be very thankful. however much we would want to be alone, we cant deny that we would eventualy need help from others. big or small, however, assume and be ready for the worst.
i'm definitely going to the mountains. i'm thinking a ski resort, where i can have the high ground to kep look out and have plenty of options for escape and fortification. plus the winters will give me advantages to scout for supplies and fortify even more. turn a cabin into a greenhouse during the winter and grow things outside in the summer/spring. the terrain will make it uneasy for hordes to make it up to me, but like i said i will have good look out for the determined ones and the bad alive ones. plenty of hunting and water. just need smarts and a good eye
sounds like a good plan
we are and have been prepared for it.. we already have zombies here and when it gets worse and takes over, we will be ready.. its the people that are not prepared that will be running in scared and not know what to do or where to go.. and thats what will cause all the problems
i agree, zombies set aside the bad people who are out for themselves and the desperate people are going to outnumber the good ones and that is where our downfall will come into play. there are just too many bad natured people out there.
