So we all love to sit around and talk about where we go for the next zombie outbreak:
`Lets go to Costco.`
`Lets go to Big 5 they have guns there!`
But stop and think for a minute. In the event of an emergency where people are being evacuated or under attack, EVERYONE is going to need supplies and weapons. This means that places like Walmart or Costco or even Liqour stores are going to be cleaned out.
Also, where would you hold up assuming you do have supplies? The High School? The police station? A store? Ohs ure, nobody else will think of that.
How about getting to a location? Streets? Freeways? Its not like there will be any traffic will there? And its not like the military wont be blocking roads or enforcing Marshal Law.
In the situation of infection, you will soon learn that the zombies will be the least of your troubles.
So What do you do?
Where do you get supplies?
Where are you gonna go?
How are you gonna get there?
Think about all the factors (besides zombies) that will hinder it.

Thats why ill loot at every other opportunity NO plan is perfect every plane needs a little luck the trick is coming up with a plan that needs the least luck
For those of you unfamiliar with the State of Maine, one of the largest tracts of land ever donated to the State was by former governor Percival Baxter in 1931. This tract of land included Mt. Katahdin. Katahdin if looked at from the air appears slightly bowl shaped on three sides. In the middle, 3 miles up from what is considered the base of the mountain is Chimney Pond. Chimney Pond is a source of fresh water that is clean enough to drink from, I've done so many times. The water is provided by snow runnoff and precipitation from Katahdin itself. Chimney Pond is surrounded on three sides by the mountain and trails to the top can be hiked even by relatively inexperienced hikers. What does this mean? A mountain in between you and your enemies. The appalachian trail, which terminates at Katahdin is an excellent method for safely bringing other survivors in and sentries posted atop Baxter and Pamola peaks could see everything that moved for hundreds of miles in any direction.

Sustainable water and agriculture (With some damn hard work), live game, and a natural artifice to protect us all...who's fuckin' comin' with me?!?!?
Considering I live near the Air Force base in NE, that would never be my first choice. Or the last, and I'm sure that thought wouldn't even cross my mind.

However, I've done some thinking. Like, hardcore thought about it. People will likely go to police stations, hospitals, Walmart, and the mall. And pretty much try to loot everything. But this is only if I couldn't get out of the city right away, and had to lay low for awhile.

I'll start from the first question asked. What do I do first? Grab everything I need from my house, such as car keys, baseball bat, crowbar. Canned food, and the ever trusty swiss army knife. And my can opener. >_>

Where do I get supplies? Easy. I work at the grocery store right down the hill from my house. I run over as many people as I can[alive or dead, either way], park in the back, lock my doors, go in through the back exit because it's fairly easy to break into. And in the back area, that's where we store EVERYTHING. We usually lock down the back at night. That means, those doors that lead into the store is pretty much unaccessible. But, from the back room, I can go into each storing freezer there is. Also, we keep produce on the other side of the back store room. Let's just say, if you've ever worked at a grocery store, the store room is huge.

I'd stop at the ice machine, grab empty totes and fill them with ice. At least two small ones. Gotta be easy to carry so no one notices me running in and out of the back. We usually keep bags back there as well. So, stock that with everything else I deem necessary and take off through the back entrance. Load everything in the back seat of my car, and head out.

How I'm gonna get there.

I know there'll be traffic. Which then becomes a problem. My boyfriend owns a truck. So let's just say he hasn't gotten eaten yet. What chance does a tiny ass Kia have against a big ass Chevy Silverado? Eh, I'd say, slim to none. So while I'm deboing stupid people out of my way, I head to the least likely of places to hide.

The damn library.

Everyone's always talking about how they'd go hang out in the woods, chill out there. Yeah, okay, that's an awesome plan. I'm not trying to offend you, but you have to think about it first. You can't just up and go. So head to the safest place there is first, and when people are done screaming and dying for the night, then you can head out to wherever it is you think is the safest.

There's a reason why I choose a library. By the time all the power goes out, and the water's gone, I'd have already filled up a few gallons of water and fortified the doors. The downtown library only has two ways in and out. That's the north entrance, and the south entrance. The windows are bullet proof. The shelves are heavy. So are the doors. So, put two and two together, and yeah.

Besides, the only way to get in after that is the elevator. And that's pretty easy to take care of. Stick something between the doors so they don't shut. the elevator doesn't go down, and no baddies can come up.

Hooray. As for looters, well, they can try to come in. All they're gonna find is books, and some laptops. And those won't be worth very much it if truly is the end of the world.
My friends and I, after reading the Zombie Survival Guide innumerable times, have decided to go to our High School. There are plenty of internal rooms, food, medical supplies, and even gates in the hallway to keep people from sneaking into basketball games (though they would make great zombie stoppers). We all live close to town and it's a relatively small town (about 3000 people) and most live outside of town, so getting there shouldn't be too tough.

We are smart, we are armed, and we are organized; ain't no ghoul gonna have me for dinner.
it depends on were i am. If im out of the house i would go to the last place anyone would go during an outbreak the Fabirc Store because im not going to stay for long just untill i fell is safe and got some kind of weapon and really if zombies attack whose going to need anything from the fabric store, even if theres people there there old, so when they turn they should be easy to kill . But if im not out i will be chilling at home until i need to leave, got water, got weapons, got an attic.
Well, I would be best at home, I live a rural area, the nearest house is my parents a mile down the road and my sister a mile the other way. I am 7 mi from any towns and we are always well stocked. I also have a generator and a hand pump well. There are 30 acrs of woods on my property and there full of game. as well as a well stocked pond. I grow a big garden every year and have stock animals. (3rd Generation farmer) I have a cross bow and many bolts as well as a bow. I have a great number of weapons but wil not disclose for security reasions. I also keep a good stock of ammo, the reality is that I have a great deal of survival gear that has less to do with zombies and more to due with the times we live in. I have no plans on going to a mall or even town if I dont need to. As far as securing may place depending on the circumstances I can take and put sheet metal on the windows and doors from a building I have that I dont use. My property has fence around most of it due to cattle and a good 8ft chain link around the house because of my dogs. I am cleaver and a dam good shot. I am used to making due with what I have on hand and in general I am a survivor that will adapt. I could go on and regale you with things and equipment I have but the point is that there are many like me out here and we will be the ones to survive. If you need to go somewhere and get help your dead! You may luck out and fall into a situation to keep your self safe but if you cant take care of your self your screwed. To be honest there is some level of prepairdness you can do but if/when this happens your best bet is to be flexable and keep your head!!!!!
