I was wondering if the caliber of the bullet matter when you headshot a zombie could you use something ass small as a .22 because if you could that would seem a good round to use small light and easy to carry. Appreciate any insight anyone can give.

What you have to remember is that Living people have survived gunshot wounds to the head and odds are zombies will survive headshots alot more often than us. I'm not saying a .22 is bad just saying just because its in the book that doesn't make it the best every time.
A 9mm would be good. Does any one know if rifles come in 9mm? I'm not that knowlageable about guns. If they don't, then I'd say go with the smallest size rifle round. You don't have to let those rotten Sum' Bitches near you. Pick them off from 50 yards.
where can one get a mp5
The answer to that question greatly depends on where you live.
and age
You can get the civilian version of the MP5 but they are overpriced. Also magazines will cost an arm and leg.
Remember the Mp5 and carbines that fire 9mm are really good to about 100meters if memory serves me correctly. That is fine if you are fighting to get out of the city. Personally I would not go for less than an AR15 in a .223. I just wish the 6.8 round would take off. Don't want to buy a rifle that it will be hard to get ammo for and even harder to find ammo for in a PAW situation.
No way in hell I would trust my life to a Hi-Point!
but where are you going to find ammo when the world stops? I'd lean towards 9mm and .22, because a .45-70 would be great, but only if you brought your ammo tree with you.
yeah, but the smaller the round generally, the less range it has.
Less effective range. Small rounds can travel very far but they are only accurate to a certain distance.
