Ok, lets say an outbreak occurs suddenly in your area. What would you wear in order to not loose dexterity but still be protected against bites? I would cut my leather jacket's sleeves off and bond my arms with medical bondages from wrists to elbows. That way i could keep my arms protected and agile(they could be more easily moved than with full sleeves) also i might bond the bone-unprotected area from lower part of waist to the lower part of chest(where ribs start) like japanesse-chinesse martial artists did before. Anyway post your ideas here.
Do you have such clothes? Becouse i forgot to mention that people should choose between what they actually have at their home's right now. Anyway, good choice.

If you can get it, full police body armour I suppose, its stabproof (bite proof) and you get a face shield and riot shield, not to mention very light and flexible
but personally, I have full body steel chain mail (very light and flexible and biteproof)
roman gladius bodyarmour (against impacts)
Roman shield (yeah its big but you use it to push away bodies then use that space to stab the head/ligaments/tendons) which can be strapped to my back to easier movement
And by the way, do you really think that you could fight full melee force and speed with all those metal plates( they should be heavy? ). Here i found this on undeadreport.com http://www.damascusgear.com/section/products/flex_force/fx1.html
this suit of armor is extremely lightweight, it almost does not limit your movements at all, provides similar protection and is cheap compared to ancient metal armour replica's. Such armor i recommend for you to buy in case of an outbreak( im looking forward into buying one myself ).

the armour was £150 and is bands of steel so is really light, its not plate armour, its segmented a=so very flexible too, you dont feell it at all
the shield £100
Helmet was custom made so was £150
the chainmail was £100 and is so flexible and light its unreal, I can wear the full stuff and move exactly thae same without it, its not heavy either so i dont get tired
the weapons I have were more expensive, £250 for my roman gladius and £250 for my viking longsword, £50 for each of my two Gurkha kukri knives
everything was handmade by some awesome guys up at a foundary in scotland who handmake weapons and armour for collectors who want actual replicas of historical items which work exactly the same as they would have

made the collection over a number of years so wasnt too bad, but glad iv got the stuff for whatever happens in the future, guns are illegal in the UK so iv got a huge advantage over pretty much everybody
I went for top of the line hand made stuff though, you can pick up good quality stuff for a lot, lot cheaper
Well last week at the car-market i saw a guy who sold out blades/machetes. One of 'em machetes( i think it was latin/panga style machete ) cost was somewhat 30 euros, it was pretty long, like over 60 cm, i asked him what is the alloy, he said it was 1095 carbon steel. Guess its quite cheap( if he didn't lied about alloy ). I think ill buy it next time i see that guy. Will make a good addition to my blades.
Yes, i know, im in touch with swords for a long time(read more in my page, if you want to). That machete is full tang construction. Today i asked the guy if he could remove the shock absorbing material and reveal the "true" wooden handle. Anyway lets get back to the topic.
What I currently have is a hodge pdge of Prison Riot Armor (Which doubles as police Riot Armor with some minor modifications) and sports protective gear. From top to bottom is a ballistic helmet, ballistic facemask, Upper Chest Protector, Lower abdomen protector, Upper arm/shoulder protection, leather greeves, Kevlar reinforced Tactical Entry gloves (full finger and full cuff) with Carbon reinforced knuckles, German Riot Shield and an Italian 8 Flanged Mace (not exactly "riot gear" but I love the damn thing anyway...).
For the lower body I have Hockey Thigh protectors and knee protections as well as riot shin/ankle protectors and Carbon reinforced toed Combat boots...
Attached to all of this on each thigh (right and left respectively) a drop down tactical holster and double grenade pouch. The grenade pouches are for scooby snacks for quick snacking on the run...
