I just want to hear you guys and your ideas on how to take a zombie down without a weapon (unless those weapons happen to be your hands) what would you do, against say maybe, one or two, possibly three, and you cant run away..... How would you dispatch these highly infectious freaks? all ideas welcome, and please no agression towards other posts i dont mind arguments just dont talk shit ok?
i have to disagree, the reason a shotgun blast doesnt knock them over, is because the shot goes through them, but a strike with good force will knock them down or simply shoving them with great force will do the trick. also, a strike to the back of the legs will instantly take them down.
well im planning on aquiring riot gear... for now i wear jeans with knee pads, my harbinger gloves a vest that covers my torso to prevent injury from zombies, a sweater and my gas mask, alternately ill wear a bandana over my face with a hood and shades if im sneaking (ninja status) but i use hand to hand to dispatch single units and occaisionally pairs and triples if there spread thin enough..... saves ammo.... i wouldnt recomend it unless ur a seasond martial artist... because one slip and ur done....
Without a weapon I would suggest that if you were agile enough and possibly strong enough restraine one zombie by putting it in a submission with it's arm behind it's back using enough force to throw one zombie into another hopefully knocking them over giving you the chance, if able to escape to do so, otherwise wearing decent enough foot wear kick/crush their deads with enough force to kill them.

submissions by their very nature wont work as zombie dont fee pain, you need to apply techniques that will go against the actually joins which will make the zombie physically unable to stand up/move due to the anatomy of the joints
this whole scenario is basically what happens if you are surrounded, because your first choice should always to be to use your speed to get away
If you go with the standard zombie model, slow with bad reaction speed and bad body co-ordination, then I don't think it would be that difficult. Knock them all down and then finish it. Of course you have to stay aware of them, even if they are on the ground they could still be dangerous, but it would be easier to finish them one-by-one with lower risk of losing because of numbers. And there is also the option of running once enough are on the ground to leave a big enough opening for escape.
Chest protection is pointless, unless your in heavy gunfire, the only thing it'll do is weigh you down and slow your reflexes. unless your using Kevlar blended t-shirts (located in most law enforcement supply shops) its usefulness is limited. These shirts are tight fitting, allowing little if anything to grab a hold of, and are designed to stop most cutting utensils like knives, machete's and even offer an added bonus of insulation during the winter months.
I've found this to be the best time to do my hunting as my movement is virtually uninhibited while the horde is, at best, frozen, and at worst, slower then usual.
Limb protection is a must, I use Kevlar arm guards, you can find them in any welders supply shop...in most towns. Their only drawback is that they are often loose at bicep/shoulder and require modification or straps to hold them in place during a skirmish.
Knee pads are great if your clumsy or have a bad habit of showing off. Otherwise their only real use is protecting your knees while you perform gratuity fellatio on the guy(s) who pulled you out after your last big mistake...assuming someone is there to help you.
If your trying to protect yourself from bites and scratches, you'll need something strong enough not to rip apart under heavy duress, but light enough to allow free movement. Those of you in martial arts, with access to heavy-weight gi's would be well advised to modify them to fit firmly against the skin with just enough space to allow you free movement.
Thankfully, with this kind of gear you'll be equipped to battle a small group of undead...
...but don't get cocky! No matter how bad ass and indestructible you think you are, a zombie swarm will still rip your armor off like a herd of fat people at a crab buffet.
The best way to take down a zombie is to go around it.
Get away.
Then find something heavy and crush it's skull.
Anyone here that would attack it head on without backup or weaponry...well, I'll see you later.
the knee pads and gloves arent really for fighting, i am a fucking monkey i can climb on anyhting almost, and not only that i am a skilled free runner, aside from the back flips and shit i can do anything a pro runner can the pads and gloves are to prevent injury during my movement throughout the city... i mean im not just avoiding zombies, im avoiding other people, and the vest that i wear is very light weight and covers my bac and chest, it's only about 3mm thick it has saved me from having my chest ripped open because they cant grab a hold of it...
yeah but the only problem with free running is that just cause you jump over a fence doesnt mean the zombies will just stop attacking you. very useful to get out of a jam, im not very good at it, i can climb most fences very quickly,m its much easier to jump then pull yourself over. knee pads and gloves are a must if youre gonna do that, ive learned from many bloody knees and sprained wrists. also tactical boots are very grippy, and good for fences and walls.
