When you don't care for your own good intentions and such, then there isn't a reason to think of the consequences of said actions which applied to a zombie infestation could provide both of the extremes, good and bad. Bad depression and an unclear mind are no way to combat the living dead. But on the other hand, letting go of your normal restrictions such as, "defending your little sister as your older brother scavenges for food", could fortify your chances of outliving other that may have those burdenings such as family members, memories, and personal items that may lead to your own downfall. But if you let go and say "Well this sucks, even so i'll do whatever i need to get out of here no matter what the cost."
You could even go as far to refrence this the SAW movies
the human will to live is one of the strongest bonds in this world. We will sacrifice everything we own, love, and care for just to hold on to our own existences
i would never go as far as they do in Saw.
if i would have to go through that much bullshit to survive a zombie attack.
would it be worth it?
think of all the memories that would be burnt into your mind forever.
i'd rather shoot myself, thanks.
Personally, I find that I don't generally make major attachments to people, so Im more readily able to let go of people who get offed in the course of duty. That's not to say I am disloyal; rather, i am a realist and a bit of a psychopath. I will try to rescue my party, but I won't kill myself because of their loss and won't mourn for more than a day or two if they fall.
with psycholgical attachments such as love or friendship many outcomes are possible. the strentgh a person can muster in a valiant attempt to save another is unrivaled in any other human aspect. but just as every characteristic imaginable has a pro, bonds aslo have cons. cons such as burdening or depression or in the event of a zombie attack a wounded friend or family member can slow you down, attract more undead due to carelessness, or maybe they'll keep you busy mentally always worried about their safety or best interest
Ayseliana i was merely using the Saw reference to show how far the human will, will go in order to survive regardless of what's set in front of them. it is how the species has survived this long. but the most dangerous characteristics of humans are greed, hatred, and lust. some connections could be applied to pas history like the Holocaust. only one man, Adolf Hitler, harvested the hatred for the Jewish, Polish, and other minorities but look at all of the destruction that was caused. if a man acts as if he knows what he's doing and if the situation is bad enough anyone and everyone will be willing to follow him. Hope you could say is our strength and our weakness
