IS THERE ANYTHING THAT HASN'T BROUGHT THE DEAD BACK TO LIFE?

Being an avid zombie fan (no pun intended) and an aspiring writer, I've been racking my brain (or what's left of it) on creating a new zombie novel, but everything and anything has been thought of:
Virus's (naturally), acid rain, meteor's, laboratories, and, oh yeah, we can't forget the government.
Is there anyone out there that has thought of something I haven't thought of?

I believe you are right. While the Earth's orbit can affect many thing's on this planet, who knows what a dramatic shift might do?

maybe just the fact of the idea of zombies or cannibalism freaks the victim out so much their mind is warped into an alternate form opposing all rules that applied in the earlier life

I do have a different way but am reluctant to tell it to others since it's the method of my apocalypse novel in which zombies are among some of the worst results of a characters actions. I will say though that it isn't scientific and involves some magick. So i suppose it depends if you wanted the zombification grounded in science or to have them have an original source that could be more random or inexplicable. After all most zombie movies actually have very lose explanations if any at all.
