right on and agreed.

"I'm thinking full armour and a Mace/Broadsword if you know you're going to hit some heavy zombie action, a lighter sabre for home protection and less infested areas."-big al rickj

~ as much as i would love to bash it out with a couple hundred zombies with full steel plate on, i know from personal expierience just how exhausting it really is after 5 minutes. so as a modification, my SCA armour is made of HDPE plastic. light, durable, won't break or rust and is thick enough to protect me from my dogs bite let alone a brittle undead.

combine it with a pollaxe or tomahawk and you got a dead ringer (no pun intended)
Nice kit!

I was thinking about chainmail, but now you've got me thinking.

What about a Kevlar suit of armour...money being no object?!

There must be some modern mods on old weapons as well, I definitely think bashing in skulls is the way to go, light, edged weapons aren't as economical of movement for the effect you achieve...every strike has to be a perfect clean one, and once the blade dulls it will get stuck.

A nice big mace or warhammer will at least knock them over if you don't kill with the first strike.

Tomahawks seem a bit light for me.
Biker gear is all kevlar and so bite proof, not to mention fire and weather proof. With the gloves and helmet etc... your whole body including face is covered and bite proof:

The best and cheapest weapon in my opinion is a pick axe handle. They are designed to take lots of punishment, are light but will kill in one good swing to the head and need no skills to use.
both of you make valid points. i like the idea of "kevlarmour" as not only protection from zombies but from any hostile humans as well

as for my t-hawk, heavy dosen't mean death... if you swing and miss, you become off balance/ and since pysics dictates that a heavy object with a low amount of kenetic energy is equal to a light object with high K.e. you'd be better off using the lighter weapon that you can swing faster. as for the hawk it's self : bludgeon on one side blade on the other.
pick axe handles are really light, probably the same as a hawk or normal hammer. Hickory ones at least anyway, when you start with the plastic ones then they start to weight more.
i would like somthing that i could easly get or make more of like a pole with lead melted in the end
