I have a person on my myspace web site that is doing a reality tv show. They are going to take 4 groups of people onto an island and have them doing diffrent tasks and makeing certain choice to stay alive it will be all about zombies... I think its a great idea! If you have a my space page ... and want theres ... Just let me know!
Its called escape from zombie island. There going on air next year. I don't know what station is going to pick them up but it sounds really cool. They haven't set any casting call dates as of yet.
hahahaha! Can you imagine a bunch of zombies sitting around doing stuff like voting who's next to get booted off the island? Or the Geico cavemen turning into zombies? Okay....just having fun!
sounds like a cool idea, i thought about this, but never did anything with it, let me know how it goes, thanks for the post, i will be sure to watch...
I joked about this with some writer friends of mine about 3 or 4 years ago... About the time the "Dawn" remake came out.
The only thing was it was brainstormed around the idea of a film [more comedy related to the Zombie genre] with the typical "scary movie" shtick related to islands and undead [incidentally- it kind of revolved around "ZOMBIES!!!" the Italian made Romero tribute from the late 70s].
The fact that somebody took it the next level and made a "reality tv show" centered around it, though in this day-n-age may not seem terribly "new", it does have a certain plus to it.
Heck, I'll catch an episode or two just to see "whuzzup"...
To be fair to the show, I'd have to see a one-sheet premise to understand ground rules [like the whole "slaying the dead" part- if it's even possible in the scheme of game play] and what exactly is the main outcome for there to be a winner... [Last man standing, ala "Survivor"? or could there be "No Winner" in the Zombie sense of the genre where everyone could be eaten?]
There had been a cheesy Fox military "reality Show" [who's name escapes me] that had people vying for something like $500,000 as some "sooper soldier" BS- it completely turned me off because it was full of "timid types" and "turbo nerd" that gave each other new heads for Christmas.
$500K is roughly the equivalent of what the typical [more or less] 20 year career soldier would make in his career- the taste for the competition soured pretty quick with me...
Again- to be fair, I'd have to see a synopsis or at least a couple of episodes before I'd pass judgment- these things are not easy to produce/record any more than they are to participate in, believe-you-me...
This is one of those ideas. Its really interesting and it has potential to be great if its done right... If it isnt.... well I personally think reality t.v. in general sucks and its still going strong... shows how much I know.
