When an outbreak takes place, where would you go, who would you take with you, and do they know the plan?

The best way to survive an outbreak or disaster of same kind is to have a plan. Where to go, What to do, what weapons to take, because the law would probably freak out if they saw you walking down main street with a gun or a sword. Where would you stash food? What people would you trust to go with you. People who don't know what to do is meat.

My husband and I argue about this alot. He wants to go to the mall and be all dawn of the dead about it. I say, Superwalmart. You could hole up in one of those bad boys for sometime, between the pharmasy, sporting goods section and camping gear, yuor bloody good to go for a seige.
I agree a super walmart is a good place however you would need to find the manager with a set of keys to lock the door. Most super walmarts don't close. However they do have a nice sports section to add to your arsenal plus a hardware section in case you can't find the keys. One big problem though unless you have a group with you a small group of four would be preferable to keep cabin fever from setting in.
Not unless you hot wire a truck and steal some trailers then in front of the doors then park a car in front of the trailer. If you live in the south, you could go on top of the Corporation and live there and let the zombie roam around Wal-Mart. Grow your own food up there collect rain water and you could build your own wind generator out of a normal box fan. So you got you power for the radio or entertainment.
I have revised a plan about that. The super walmart here in KY has 3 major access ports with close able metal grates that look oiled but not used much. I live in a very very secluded part of ky. Deep in the Appalachian mountains. So to get what I need would be one thing and I can if necessary hold up in a near by coal mine. There are a great number of people here with guns most have enough ammo for a small war. I have 2 simple 22 rifles. However, My favored weapon is my sword. It never runs out of ammo. It also doesn't take much to loop off a zombie head.
The initial phase is going to be difficult for the prepared.
Above all do not let yourself get in a situation where you will be arrested.
It would suck to be left in a cell when the jailer gets scared and hauls butt.

Trust?
Tough word in a survival situation.
Hopefully you already have thought about who to trust and how far to trust them.
You need a team to fight off gangs.
Trust is important. Some one you can trust not to get weak and not tell you if they are bit. Some one you can know that wouldn't do a Homer Simpson and eat all the supplies in a day. Some one that knows how to shoot well. GO to a gun range if you have to. Swinging a sword at a zombie isn't as easy to do with you skewed because they got too excited. Some one that will keep there head in a stressful environment. Some one who wouldn't take all the medical supplies like pain meds or alcohol.
i would go to north carolina with all my redneck friends & all my guns
Lots of guns thats good but do they have the ammo and are they good shots that is the key.
I was stationed at Fort Monroe, Virgina for about 2 1/2 years and thought if a mass outbreak were to occur, the old fort on base would be a perfect spot to hold up and survive. It has a deep moat completely around it. 3 car bridges and 1 foot bridge into it, which are all pretty easily defendable.
How accessible is it for non military personal? When the carrion hits the fan I would like the knowledge that military bases won't be closed to us survivalists.
id go to the old wyoming state prison.built in the 1800's tall stone wall all around very few entrances all windows have bars who needs more
Good Idea however you would need food and water. Most prisons now keep only a limited supply.
