i have a stainles steel keyblade replica from the kingdom hearts games and ive used it alot its not cheapley made and could smash through a skull easily i also would take my 38 special a twelve gauge a hunting knife with serated edges my compound bow with a 75 pound draw its very light weight to carry and finally my grandfathers asault rifle from the war. and my hank arron solid oak wood bat thats held together since the 40s when my great grandpa got it ive used it countless times since then its never came close to breaking

My scythe and serrated long sword. I love my Scythe to death...^_^
Slice most things in two and if needs be i can not get a decent swing my long sword would do the trick no crappy guns which when your in a state of fear or are not a very good shot and youre trying to kill something which is already dead and theres like only one place that can put it back in its grave yeah a good sharp blade is your best friend plus no chance of running out of ammo just get stuck in there and fight, destroy, Slaughter!

As appropriate as a scythe is, and it very much is, they are not that combat effective. Although that would be one hell of a glory weapon, in hat case you may as well go with a high relism close fit skull mask or facepaint and a tattered black robe.

not if your trained to shoot. when you train enough, it becomes a part of you, an extension of your body. pulling the trigger, watching your target, shifting the sights, acquiring another target, firing, reloading, its a fluid, cool motion, like breathing, it becomes as simple as the gross motor movements you use to swing a blade.

The bayounet I have in my room. Yeah thats right I have a detached bayounet hanging in my room from WW2 i'll upload a pick later. I'v sharpened it and its razor sharp and seconds away from me.

Definitely a crossbow over a gun.
Just as effective, quiet (the noise of guns would just attract more zombies), re-usable ammo - it's the ultimate.
Close combat i'm not sure? Machete i'd suppose.
