The best place to be during an outbreak?

Military bases, police stations, hospitals, stores and evacuation points are going to the worst places to be, as they are too obviously good and so are going to be swarmed by the panicked masses. They would only work after most of the people who are going to die are dead, but may be stripped of most of their obviously useful supplies, may be structurally damaged and will probably be infested by the zombies of the swarming masses that gathered there in life. But if you could find a reasonably intact military base after the "dying-off" period that is relatively free of zombies, it is a viable option.
It would be incredibly tricky to pull off living in space(getting enough people with the varied skills and expertise you'll need, being able to grow enough food to feed all those people, finding a way to keep the ship/satellite powered, combating muscle loss caused by zero gravity, finding a ship and getting into space, etc.), but if you could pull it off, it's actually not that bad of a place to be. The only way a zombie could get to you is if you brought someone infected on board or if zombies learn to fly space ships, in which case everyone's probably screwed anyway and it won't really matter where you are.

Too many people around Military bases. Most crop up small cities just to cater to the troops. I'll be in the mountains.

somewhere like the galapagos islands. very little population, tons of food growing or from the sea all year round. you wouldn't even need any weapons!

There is no "best" place to go, The stags seem to find us everywhere.
We found and abandoned military base from the 1950's to the 1960's called "CFB EDGAR". From what we've gathered it was a radar and radio installation. that was shut down and turned into an adult occupational centre in the 80's (a place for the deaf, blind, paralyzed, and handicapped to go to live as close to normal life among others like them).
It had been shut down in the late 90's. it had everything a modern town had from houses, barracks, a fire station, police station, church, theatre, bowling alley, dinner rec centre and a fenced off parimeter with one gated place of entry. - Attachments:
