what makes a dead man or animal into a zombie? A parasite, a disease, a alien like a headcrab, or radioactive matterial? what makes a zombie, and can zombies run?

No one knows. Take your pick from a virus, disease, radiation, hell being full, nerve agents, martians etc etc....
What makes a zombie is a dead thing coming back to life and wanting to eat live things.
Zombies can't run. If it is running then it isn't/hasn't died.

well do you have proof that zombies cant run? yes i know rigimortis is setting in which makes the joints stiff but you still can run i would think they could run but only in short strides

A zombie is something that has died and come back to 'life'. Something that has died will not only suffer rigour-mortise. The liquid in the inner ear will be messed up so balance will be all over the place, hence the 'zombie stagger'.
Walking never mind running takes a huge amount of body system to work in time with each other. Death upsets all these system.

ok i get that but there are 3 balance body parts arms/legs, ears, and eyes. you need only 2 to be able to run and not fall. i have hard in movies and games that some zombies run some walk i think thats true that certan kinds with 2 or more balance body parts can run walk and crawl but zombies with 1 or 1.5 [1 and a half] balance body parts can only walk and crawl

Hundreds of muscles, ligaments, tendons, brain signals, split second corrections by the brain etc etc have to be done

Yeah I know. The zombie survival guide is just one book in the huge library of zombie information available.
Written primarily for profit and then entertainment. It wasn't written to be an actual guide to survive a zombie outbreak.

Because its obvious that Max Brooks has a very limited knowledge of zombies and basic survival skills.
it's the same as reading Rainbow Six by Tom Clancy and then going in to solve a hostage situation.
It's a good start for beginners and to spark an interest in the subject but that's it.
