Are there any people who are making actual preparations for some sort of future apocalyptic event?

If so --- feel free to discuss them.

My whetstone is a Norton 4000/8000 combo grit stone. I also have a 12000 grit Chinese polishing stone from woodcraft.com. Lastly, I have a DMT D8C diamond plate for really bad touch ups and for lapping my stones to make sure they're absolutely flat. The Norton runs $80, Chinese stone is $30, and the DMT was $40.
im more of a glock 17 fan.o and i have 27 glock mags with 22,000 9mm rounds =]
I have a beretta 92fs which can share clips with my CX4 Storm. 7 clips for each (32rd ext. mags for the CX4)

At present I'm just hoping I don't lose any but I think you could probably lose half and still be okay...good job!
I guess this is where i fall. I prepare for all sorts of problems, be it civil unrest, economical SHTF,natural disasters etc.
I'm not going to go into to detail about what i have but, I could sustain myself and family for 8-12 months in my home without leaving. I prepare so i do not have to depend on others. Even if it's something as simple as losing ones job. I will save thousands in what i will not have to buy at the store during my unemployment. I keep what's called a BOB( bug out bag) ready at home and one in my truck and the wifes car. The car bags are more along the lines of GHB( get home bag)so that way we can make our way back home. There is more to than just collecting and storing goods. You have to practice/train with them. I use alot of what i have when i camp. This year i did 25 miles in the Everglades swamp. Very primitive stuff. You want things to fail when you train not when you need them. Not everything has to be about the world ending.
BOB, yeah i like that! got one myself. mostly just medic type shit (bandages, meds, etc) and of course extra ammo and clips. keep it right by the bed. What else do i need in there?
your lost zombie t-shirt. i just got mine today and now my gearbag is just about complete
BOBs should have the basics... Medical supplies ( to the level of care YOU can provide), Food, water( or means of purifying ),money, source of lighting, small radio, spares batteries, fixed blade knife,multi-tool,fire ( more than one means),spare socks ( thick ), personal care items ( sun block, hand wipes, toilet paper,).. that's just a few items...
I use non-scented ass wipes in place of TP. They are a little heavier but quicker to use and you get more out of it. Plus they can be used to clean other parts of the body, etc.
yes all good ideas......think im gonna need to get a bigger bag....guess i could use my old sea bag..akk!
Ditto! The best way to test a survival kit is go out there with nothing but your BOB and see how everything works. Out here in California a bunch of us do that for a week or so. We call it "Dirt Time". Hehe.
hell yes im getting ready for what ever may come. i live in so cal. when we have a big earthquake im shit out of luck. a big quake will cut off many people form the things they need. there will be no fire department or police they will be with there family. i will have to protect my family from what ever. becides a grip of knifes and swords (cheep but will work for a little while) i got a remington 870 a winchester 22 over a thound rounds of ammo. me and my wife have stocked pilled food and water. we have also stocked pilled supplies for our new born son. its a start but better than nuttin
I'm jealous as hell...lol
