how long in a mall
how long would someone survive in a 2 story mall, about a 1/2 mile long and wide, food courts, gun shops and everything, I just wanted 2 know how long a single person would survive , or how long until he/she goes completely insane and commits suicide. No this is not a joke. and what items are a must have when in the mall ?

it really depends on alot of things. its possible to survive in one for a while but there's alot of variables. how many zombies are in there already? can you reach and barricade the doors? is there any non-perishable food in any of the stores? theres a lot of things that can go wrong and as always theres safety in numbers as well as sanity usually. 1 guy against alot of zombies in a enclosed half mile two story deathtrap wont last too long, no ore very little zeds you could last as long as your food, water, and sanity hold out i suppose.

I agree with HornetDriver. Malls would be overrun by dead and not dead alike. Keep in mind that shops located in mall have glass "walls", so where are you going to hold up? I bet theres better choices than a stinky janitor's room in a mall which is full of zeds and hostile scavengers.

it depends on the location of this mall A... i mean dawn of the dead is a good movie... but then again... there is never really a safe place in a zombie apocalypse.. not every mall has bullet proof glass... i mean a thousand zombies have the body force of ripping those doors off the hinge... think of it like a hxc concert... if your in the front you will be crushed... ribs can break... glass will shatter... then... your food situation... depends on how long the generators will run for before they shut off and your out of gasoline to power them. all the perishables will perish in the food court... then all the snacks and junk food that are sold in stores will end up perishing, getting stale, rats can come around and contaminate your shit... even simple crackers will go stale. so then you have all this rotting food and your in a mall... And if you are with people... evnetually one another will turn and blame the loss of food on someone, fights, territory. man and man can not be togehter that long. best friends will kill bestfriends in a zombie war because everyone is just so scared and nervous. SO then what are you going to do.. go to fye and jam out to your fav bands? Go build a ramp and get a board from Zumiez? no you have to constantly secure the premisis... eventually something will give in... a simple hinge can be loose to begin with... so then you go to the roof... because you don't know what else to do so you will barracade the door and let mother nature take hold of you. or the zombies will get through that door. badddddd ideaaa. i'd go insane after 4 days of it. i rather be out and about in the world in the action. i love the chance of death. exhilirating. so basically Hornetdriver was right. you will have your ass handed to you.

the first thing to consider is the location of the mall. would you even be able to make there? unless of course you could magically appear inside the mall. at least every mall i have seen has been located in a heavily populated area. heavy population + starting outbreak = a shit load of assholes you may have to go through for a not so safe house with shitty stores.

1.) Depends on how much pressure someone can take , and how many zombies surrounding the mall and looters as well because sooner or later the zombies are all going to pile up and plow through any door than your fucked or the looters will be dicks and get to you before a zombie does unless you have a helicopter.
2.) Defiantly something to keep you occupied, weapons, heath care, ETC.make sure that the food doesn't go bad, because when you run out its really going to suck.
But in my point of view i wouldn't stay in a mall very long at all cause that is defiantly a death trap waiting to happen so i would keep on the move

Well The MalL We have here is Really Crappy its 1 story no gun stores just alot of that shit with clothes tho we do have a dicks and this japenese imports with many swords with only 2 areas to enter very complex and right by a hyvee and down the street is a gun shop

Most of the malls in Florida seem to be built for the Yuppy/Trendy bunch with lots of glass and open sky-lines; absolute waste of time to try to hole-up in one of those Preppy mausoleums...
-No weapons- except for knives that are about as useless as used toilet paper
-Clothing fit for Baby Biorne
-A few apple iPods and some other electronica that'll be two steps off of useless when the power grid finally fails...

3. Lots of zombies = lots of strength
4. Looters will kill you if zombies don't.
Id say you'd last a good 15 minutes before you panicked and got killed/bitten/eaten.

I think George had A neat idea but the reality is that malls are a bad locations as I have said time and time again get away from population centers of any kind. More peoples = More Zombies. Run away and find a quiet place to hide and if its discussed on here that means its not original and not secure!!!!! Use your head and not someone elses.
