there are 2 books of his the first called THE RISING and the continuation CITY OF THE DEAD.the stoy is a more hellish take on zombies.Romero purists may be a little put off at first as the zombies are diffrent than his versions but for a zombie fan they are a must read in my opinion.the inside cover includes praise by Ken Foree(original dawn of the dead actor)that caught my attention.after i started reading the first one i couldnt put it down grab both if you like to read and love the genere.

yeah they were quite hopeless and the endings were...but i think it is one of those series that the hopelessness adds to the horror of them, the despair kept me thinking about the story long after i finished them and in my opinion real horror should make you think long after you finished it.that said these books are not for everyone and i myself didnt care for some of the ideas but it was nice to read a book without a hollywood style ending and i just couldnt stop reading them i was compelled to keep reading just to see where it was heading.
i will have to look for dead sea.some one told me about another book called Reign of the dead by Len Barnheart have you heard of it?just wondering if it is worthwile to get.it is nice to find someone with similar reading intrests as mine most of my friends dont really read much anymore so any good stories you can sugest would be apriciated.
i just finished one about a month ago not about zombies also called House Infernal by Edward Lee not the greatest i have ever read but it does have an interesting take on hell as the main characters are on a mission there.i read one a couple of years ago i love called The Decent by Jeff Long about a war with sub humans that i read 3 times.
i liked The Decent because it was kinda a hard book to classify.horror, adventure, millitary, religious and so on watched The Ruins so-so movie
Aw man im a big lee fan. but his older stuff is better for sure.actualy the house infernal is a conclusion to a trilogy of infernal which the story was best in the city infrenal(1st)but the detail was better in angel infernal(#2)
i love brian keenes style of writting he gets you roped in from the begining and the rising and city of the dead were great books. read his other book sea of dead wich is a slight different take with zombies and its not about zombies but the ghoul was an awsome book and terminal was a great book of his as well hes my fav author
I met brian keene he's cool he signed my boo the rising. it great.
he's cool, but he has no hair.
is there a probleme with people that shave their heads i do it plus dont have to worry about stenches grabing you by the hair
I LOVED City of the Dead!
Amazing book!!!
I picked up city of the dead and read from there. Based on what a I read in the second book, I never went back for the first. I will say that I was not impressed with the writing as much as I was with the idea. That said, I doubt I will waste any more time on it. My personal opinion is all.
i just finished Rising and i liked it but was a little upset that the zombies talked. other than that i thought it was very good. dead sea is, in my opinion, better though.
