I know that through many of the forums we have brought up the zombie survival guide and some say that Mr.Brooks was indeed making fun of us. But here's the truth, he is one of us! If any haters have never read his book to begin with then you don't have the right to attack him.

From defence to attack and on the run, he makes great sense. I mean to says it's humor is to say that zombies killing and eating you is funny. The only reason his book is in the humor section is that he was forced to place it there or no one would publish his book. There wasn't one piece of humor in it.

The only logical argument you could make is the type of zombie he said would exist. If he's wrong then we are fucked anyway, if he's right then the slow zombie he mapped it out logically.

He book is really based on theory but it's all based on back logic. A zombie is just a human but dead and it's brain has been fucked up. Don't judge this until you have read the book and seen Max Brooks answer Q&A.

Hey, at the very least, he helps get the issue more attention. Perhaps some people will be at least a little more prepared than they would have been otherwise. Are there inaccuracies in there? Sure, but when Z-Day comes, we're all going to find out that some of our pre-conceived notions were wrong, too. You'll have to adapt to survive.
the book is helpful abiet allittle stretched but it is most peoples first look at zombies as a real threat
One thing that bugs me with the book's stating that they are truly dead. I do not support this theory. If zombies do exist, they would be alive. Yes, I follow the rules supported by fvza.org; it was written very well to the point of sounding scientifically plausible.
Just like has been said before, it's just practical application of common sense.

And love it or hate it, it did give me some ideas (example here being the bathtub water thing)

It's a good read IMO.
you know what, its a book. i thought they were both good. buying a book for a literal zombie survival guide is silly because it hasnt happend. theres nothing to base it on. it would be like watching the night of the living dead and saying thats exactly how it will happen. Romero says the dead will come back regardless of how they die (diary of the dead) and they have some sort of memory and thinking capabilities (night/dawn/day of the dead), brooks says they have no memory and no logic. Anyone read Cell? they are just as valid as the 28 days later "zombies", whose to say they wont be telepathic. you cant, it hasnt happend. of course real survival books will be better because they are based on fact. my point is, if your gonna trash one zombie book, you should trash everything written about zombies, because its based on something that hasnt happend and no knowledge base to pull from except what others have made up, and they could all be completely wrong. and at any rate, whats the difference between max brooks and any one else on this site with a blog? nothing, they like zombies and wanted to tell a zombie story. the end.
I actually Thought the book had some good ideas Yes, it is just a book, but I feel there is no problem pointing out parts of the book that you might disagree with; as such' adding one's own ideas on how you think it could be improved. Whether or not others agree with your suggestion or not. What I do think it is necessary to bash the text for any reason. This is a work of fiction and portrays the thoughts and opinions of the author. Yes, it is okay to provide constrictive criticism. It is unnecessary to rip it apart simply because you find something about it that you disagree with; whether if you liked the book or not.
amen!
good book. a bit boring in the "stories from the real world" section in the end.
I love the book. It was hilarious, but i almost made side notes, or wanted to add pages to correct it. I mean some of the stuff was good advice in case of a zombie apocalypse, but i think some one should make a serious zombie survival guide. Personally, i would enjoy that just as much....

but thats just me.... :P
It doesn't matter whp wrote trhe book, it will never satisfy everyone. There are always those that did not find the book satifactery. This is the way life is. There is no one thing that everyone likes to any extent.
i read the book in a day at school ( no wonder i got horrible grades) but the book did make sense. this is correct. But it is no bible. I believe any true fan as my self could have written a better book about surviving a zombie apocalypse. now dont get me wrong i liked the book its just not worth getting on your knees and praying too. P.S. i do plan on becoming a writer and writing lots of zombie novels
I thought the book was humorous but as far as a general survival guide it sucked. No common sense in there what so ever. I really laughed about the majority of advice he gave people for an urban survival situation. Anyone remember the 92 riots in LA? That would be a good catalyst for an urban survival guide with massive amounts of hostiles. His advice on every type of survival situation in the book MAY help your kids in the school yard park but thats about it. World War Z was a great book though and look forward to the movie.
