And the Dead shall rise

This a small extract from my fantasy horror novel i am currently writing tell me what you think..

"The night was cold and mist ebbed among the tombs of the ancient ones the Cemetary of the Imperial city was renowned for its peace and serenity but the cloaked figure walked among the misty monuments of death with a pale and un-earthly glow.
He stopped walking under the shadow of a crooked and deformed tree, its branches alight with the pale moons glow, raising his head he smiled crookedly his eyes glazed with white his skin as pale as the moon. "Thou doth speaketh unto my ear of life and love. Alas this heart of mine no longer beats and mine lungs doth not breath" he spoke in a eerie ancient tone which sounded more like a growl than a true dialect of any of the races of the world, raising his claw like hand into the nightly sky the air began to swirl and pulsate suddenly a shockwave shuddered the very foundations of the earth as the night grew colder. The earth began to crck and moan as if in pain the graves of the ancient dead began to open and the hands of the rotting dead emerged from their ancient slumber. His cowl was swept from his head by the un-natural winds which now swept through the cemetary, he turned to see his newly awakend army of rotting corpses hungry for the flesh of the living "and so it shalt be the Dead shalt walk the lands!" he spoke darkly as he strode through the graves while the walking dead shambled behind his wretched figure.

The stench of death poluted the cityscape of Meridian the ancient gates of the capital lay wide open with but few Imperial guards to protect the citizens within lookin westward one of the Guards spotted something what looked almost like a wall of shadows heading towards the city "Look...look over there...whats that?" he pointed at the shadows. The torch light began to reveal thousands of undead shambling their way to the city. The dead had risen and with the intent on devouring all life in the Empire!"
