the government- freind or foe?
One common occurence I notice as should any avid zombie fan notice is how the military always does quarantine and they end up killing all in that quarantined area(zombie and human alike). Maybe our government's propaganda has brain washed me but I just don't think they would do this. Atleast the U.S. is known for getting large amounts of our nation's soldiers killed just to save a few. thats just what I've noticed.

well its not like its a totalitarian gov. They need us. Especially the US. Plus this is different. zombies aren't gonna go all allah jihad on us. Never herd of a terrorist zombie. So as long as they don't send weekend warriors to help us we should be good. What the hell is a zed?

I agree on that part. but as a whole they have to save face with the surviving people. So unless something crazy changes like they take over the government or we got some crazy politician doing some secret shit(whole nother topic right there) they are gonna want to show the country and the world that they are a perfect little country that no one should fuck with. not even zombieslol

Government troops can be a two edged sword. If they are under some sort of central authority they'll do as they're told rather than risk a court martial or summary execution under certain circumstances. If the chain of command breaks down watch out!!! Historically when a government breaks down the military tends to disintegrate into armed gangs of scavengers since they have a lot more firepower than most civilians and no one's around to enforce any law and order. Of course some will try to help survivors and try to maintain some kind of civilization but others will become just as big of a problem as the zeds themselves.

Pray for a central command with a good commander. Else pray for rogue groups. Yea the rogue groups will be bad but with a decent team you can set a trap. With a evil central command little shit doesn't stand a chance. It'll just be a battle of atrition and survival.

Yah that's all we need in an outbreak crazed trigger happy G.Is you'd think the zeds would be enough, I sure as hell wouldn't trust the military Like Robert said they will be gangs and most military think highly of themselves just because they were prepared (By means of Armor vehicles,Guns,rations,etc.),Will be slave labor or whatever other jobs they deem fit and In my eyes that's no way to rebuild but I guess if your low on man power it be a great idea but they most likely won't try to put things back together.
For the record I don't think all the Military will go sour, so when the outbreak hits try not to be caught in the crossfire (Good G.Is VS. Bad G.Is)

In a failing situation the Govt. will proceed with the most tactical/strategical course of action. Containment is primary, and if that does not appear to be possible then they will find the best place to create a barrier(Natural or not). Failing that they will fall back to the most secure, defendable, and survivable location they can find.
Now what is happening strategicly will severely affect the military's actions toward you. If things are going very well, then the possibility of FEMA style camps for survivors. Voluntold jobs for the people living in those camps. Possibly putting people in your house with you willful or not.
If things are going bad, any supplies/goods in the open will vanish. Most noticibly near highways and main roads. As time goes on and the situation grows more desperate, scouts may be sent out to find more food/supplies. Or else the mil may pack up and move with little to no notice/support for their camp voluntolds.

Initially in the beginning definitely foe, especially if u plan on trying to defend ureself with firearms. Once the area is secure then they could act as friend (depends). Obvious example is after hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. The government treats citizens in a crisis not as equals but as animals to be protected or sacrificed depending on the energy expenditures required. This has been proven time and time again in history that when the government did come to the rescue it was always initially to secure the area (hence all armed individuals are considered combatants), then to rescue or assist. Simply put ureself in their shoes and u would logically do the same, therefore, to think otherwise about the government when history has given countless examples of their behavior would make that person a fool.
