Hypothetically, let's say you have a friend who is totally incompetent, but you hang out with him just for laughs. One day, there is a large-scale zombie invasion, and you and a couple of other friends, much more competent than the afore-mentioned, all get together. Your loser friend is also with you, and early on he already shows signs of mental instability. He is a stress-eater, screws up everything you tell him to do, and you are beginning to be afraid of letting him have a weapon, lest he turn it against one of you. Still, he's always been there for you ever since you were kids, and you owe him for saving your life once... what do you do?

cool thanks
No problem.
based on the scenario in the question as it is.... Given the drive and basic instinct to survive, kill or be killed then that person would have to take a one way trip to see St Peter. The minute he looked like he might turn the gun on the group he'd be a Mc Zombie Meal.
I'd slap his ass to get the message of life or death situation and if that doesn't work I'd give him some provisions a weapon and leave him for the good of everyone else. and if he comes back alive he stays.
When it comes right down to it friendship goes both ways. I'm willing to put my life on the line to help a friend. IThere are limitations though.
make it look like an accident.
"Here, clean my gun for me, will ya?" "sure. Hey, whats that in the tube-thingy?" *Looks in barrel of rifle* BOOM.
What would I do? Well, seeing as he's been my friend for years, we have come to know and love him, and hes god for laughs...I say we use him as bait to lead the zombies away from us in a moment of need, or maybe drug him to sleep and tie him to a chair, Then hang the chair from a tree. When he wakes up, he has a pistol with oen bullet, food for three days, and a knife. Its his choice. But im going to revert to a technical term here and name him for what he really is: a meat-bag. Useless, panicked and just a waste of food. Hes bound to die-why shouldn't he help the people with a greater chance of survival? I'm not being cruel here, im just think this through-what purpose does he have? Is he a good cook? A fighter? A builder? If he has no purpose, he is food for the zed. Leave him to die, use him as bait, whatever-just dont let him ruin you chances of survival.
Those rainy days taught me to sleep standing up. :-D
