The worst weapons to use against the living dead.
There are hundreds of posts on the web about which weapons to use against zombies. Most are nothing more than a list of ways to get yourself killed. So here is a list of the worst weapons. Pay attention, this might save your life.
1. Handguns. The worst weapon you could possibly choose. The accuracy and range of most handguns leaves much to be desired. To be of much use the target needs to be close. Once the dead have come within this range fear kicks in. With fear comes adrenalin. With adrenalin comes an unsteady hand. At this point a headshot is all but impossible contrary to what the movies would have us believe. Unless highly trained and battle hardened, only use that handgun on yourself.
2. Fully automatic weapons. These weapons when deployed against zombies will have little effect other than self demoralization. The effect on morale after unloading one of these into a group of zombies and only managing to score a handfull of headshots will be devastating. Don't waste your time.
3. Fire, acid, and other chemicals. There may be some situations were things of this nature can be effective. Most of the time they are a bigger threat to the user simple due to the injuries inflicted. Most will little or no effect on the dead. Best used for disposal purposes only
4. Swords, knives, and other archaic weapons. The effectiveness of these weapons is not in doubt here. With the advent of firearms these weapons have fallen into disuse as a killing implements. As such the skilled people required to create true fighting weapons have been lost. Most examples that can be found are cheap knock offs that WILL break upon being used in battle.
Knives are great tools that any survivor should carry but the effectiveness of them to guarantee penetration of the skull is in doubt.
5. Sporting equipment. Baseball bats, hockey sticks, etc. These simply were not design for sustained combat. Alluminum bats will flatten and lose effectiveness quickly. If pressed a wooden bat can be used but constantly question it's durability. Any fan of baseball has surely seen a bat splinter on contact will a ball. Just imagine what the outcome will be from repeated blows to a skull.
Ultimately the best weapon humans have is our ability to think, something the dead completely lack. Use your brain and hopefully I will not need to destroy it with my trusty crowbar.

Depends on the situation. If you're trying to move through an area without attracting attention, a silencer is your best bet especially when you don't know if a runner is around. However, with ammo scarce a melee weapon can be the best option if there are few zombies in the immediate area. A crowbar, axe, or fire axe can be ideal. Ive found that a bow and arrow are quite effective. You can dispatch the undead from a short distance away, and you can retrieve your ammo sometimes. Be sure to train with all your weapons first, if you can, and have 2 backups(if not 3 or 4).

revolvers, not pistols would be good weapons though. they have very good range and power, and some come with scopes. i thought of a really bad weapon set to use against a zombie, and it wouldbe a plastic cup, a light bulb, and your face.

Considering that a pistol and revolver use the same ammo that is untrue. The pistol will most likely have more rounds but the revolver has fewer moving parts so it is more reliable.

axes are the best with out a doubt
you can use them to cut open heads or cut them off
you can open locked doors
they come in all sizes
never need to reload
and even if the handle breaks you can always put the head to good use
there found almost any wears and there just all in all BAD ASS

I'm kind of confused by this one worst weapon or better than the ones you listed you are right on all accounts. Untrained people or more scary with firearms than any zombie attacker. And yes all weapons brake down true. But we have nothing that is perfect in all ways. even your trusty crowbar is fail at points. So we have what we have. A brain is our best weapon to fend of the horde.

Well maybe unless you happen to find a Quad.50cal or Mini-gun mounted on the back of a truck xD
other than that id imagine if the user cant mange the tool, its rendered useless no matter how practical it is.

The absolute worst weapon to use against moving zombies is fire in any form. At least with most of those other weapons, you're just killing yourself. If you use fire, either you or the Z's will probably set the surroundings on fire. If that happens, then the fire could spread (either from it catching other things on fire or from Z's wandering off and setting stuff on fire after they've eaten you). From there, a few things could happen.
1. You set the safehouse(s) of other survivors on fire, possibly trapping them in a horrible death and probably destroying at least most of their supplies.
2. You set a forest/plain on fire, destroying a survivor(s) foraging/hunting ground and possibly injuring/killing that survivor(s).
3. You set a group of survivors crops on fire, causing some/all of them to starve.
4. You destroy valuable supplies other survivors could have used.
Obviously, if you're in city, you will probably only be able to cause 1 and 4. But if you're stupid enough try and use most of the weapons on this list, you're probably too stupid to avoid areas with a lot of Z's. In that case, there won't be much left to turn into a Z. In fact, in those cases, you might actually end up saving by luring Z's away from other, smarter, survivors and into a more easily avoided group.
However, even a weapon that is a perfect choice in one situation can get you killed in another (i.e. trying to use a long-range rifle that worked excellently in a place with good visibility (plains, on a hill, etc.) in an area with limited visibility (cities, some forests, etc.))
The best weapon that we have is ingenuity. In a zombie invasion, we can't just call an expert to answer our questions and fix our problems but the obvious solutions still won't always be the best. So we'll need ingenuity to build safehouses, find food and defend ourselves from threats, human, zombie and natural.
