so far ive noticed the best way to deal with a zombie onslaught if your outside of a safehouse or your main base is to trick them. Whenever I go out in a relativly small group i take a hollow build it yourself mannequin in my car (best one possible for small groups is a hummer with mounted gun on top) a small airtight box of raw meat and some good old fashioned c4 if a onslaught is too big for me to take care of I throw the mannequin out with the rotten meat in it and some c4. The nearest zombies immediatly think it is a human and go for it. Once enough are crowded around I blow it up. It will usually only kill a few of the immediate zombies around it but the blast knocks down enough in a large enough area for my crew to establish a strong post to slaughter the rest of them (i keep some barricade materials in the hummer)
i forgot to mention that didnt I. I have a series of recordings in the head of each mannequin. the initial one is a young woman yelling in fear triggered by pressure sensors when the mannequin touches ground. then when a zombie first strikes they become screams of pain. the mannequin designed to drip out raw meat juices and meat when parts of it are bit further distracting them. in some cases ive seen zombies fight over the meat but its usually only watch the whole ordeal for moments because by then enough zombies are gathered to use the c4.
But...most zombies..although lacking in reason and understanding would naturally know it's not human. And even if a few die from the C4 explosion... like a death march of 4 in front and 12 in the back would just be drawn away from other distractions.. Because there would most likely be much chaos happening around you. Its a neat and possible idea... but I would only recommend it on last resort survival techniques.. Even though it will most likely fail
And another thing, Zombies wouldn't have the thought of fighting for the meat of a human or any other type, they don't have the reasoning in their minds of competition.. I can only see if they were going for the same piece, and were constantly tugging at it for the food itself would be the only way it would seem as if they were fighting for it... Just saying that opinion from research
i never meant they fought for it as in combat i only meant their want of the meat would cause multiple zombies to grab for single peices. And if youd payed enough attention ud see where i said and i quote "It will usually only kill a few of the immediate zombies around it but the blast knocks down enough in a large enough area for my crew to establish a strong post to slaughter the rest of them ". and the only reason for the human like shape i think i said this but i may not is for an initial distraction. well the mannequin is still moving the zombies will think it to be a human and when they hear the noise and notice the meat will be drawn to it.
