the fort can equip rapid-fire particle projectors and heavy lazer launcher to defend strong -tough enermies .plus ,every member of the fort can equip a lightsaber to defend close-attack from zombies

Prisons serve as good zombie defense fortresses, but I'm limited to big houses with stable rooftops around here in Oley.

No bottom floor windows, rope ladder second floor with extra rope ladders upstairs. Outward opening front door, designated burning pit outside and downwind of the building, if you're lucky you can get a windmill so that you're independant of the grid.
Irrigate the back courtyard to make a garden, find a nearby lake to catch fish in, learn about edible plants and fungi that grow in nearby forests. Soundproof the house, not only will you not attract attention in a silent building, but you don't have to deal with the sounds of the undead at your fence.

no need to make a new structure. use shopping containers to build a wall around existing structures and food plot. if you stager the containers you can use the steel boxes for storage as well.

to get people in and out of the compound, use ladders for supplies, make a garage outside your compound (three sides with shipping comtainers, fourth a gate contrled from inside the compound), the vechical persents a lot of securty issues.

a pair of variable reach forklifts to put pallets on top of the wall, the other to take them down on the other side. also useful for moving large equipment around inside the compound.
