Most effective way to take down large groups of zombies?
What would be the most effective way to kill large groups of zombies attacking your survival HQ? I think that taking gas tanks and spreading them around the battleground then shooting them from above when zombies are around them would be a really great way to do it. Fun, takes out a large amount of enemies within a decent permiter, what more could you ask for?

i like the first 2 ... gernades, maybe some automatic fire anything destructive enough to blow the legs of em then run em over with a tracked vehicle or 2

Well its the 1 thing they never do in a movie. Get a vehicle of good size and wieght. And just run the fuckers over & over & over until there are not any more standing. Then do it agian when needed..

Sounds more like a huge waste of gas to me.
If your in a position to drive a tank/armored vehicle through a mass of the undead, I would think the fuel would be better served if you maintained a slow speed and simply took head shots with an experienced gunmen or two on the roof.
At least with a tank you'll have the luxury of uninhibited travel.

A large amount, it depends on your imagination, or if it's short notice, or if you preset something. I'll give ex. for both.
Preset:
1. Find a manican and hollow it out. Stuff it with meat, whether it be old bacon, or road kill, as long as it's meat. Now dig a very large hole. fill it with gas tanks, something that will ignite at contact when shot at. Cover the hole. When zombies take the bait, blast em' away when they're in the hole, and it only took one shot. If it's deep enough don't bother with burning, the won't get out.

1.sorry UnRest but for short notice attack, I'm gonna have to use your idea to run em over because that's probably the best idea.

if the group of zombies is big enough a large vehical might go through them but you would have to be hauling ass because if your not going fast enough then they will just stop you pull you out and eat you

If you say please they will cooperate.
"You dang zombies getcha selves outta here!! Go on! Git!"
But really, get a truck and the annoying guy out of the group, knock him out, tie him up, and tie the other end of the rope to the truck/car. Put a cinderblock on the gas pedal and let the car drive off in the other direction leading all the zombies away. They will go for the easier meal then try and get inside to the harder to get morsels.
