What an awesome idea. I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on a copy. Perhaps finally we can dispel some of the harmful mythology floating around out there.
While I'm no expert at anything other than talking out of my ass, I have some valid theories, and it'll be interesting to see how far off base I am.

That's the fun of zombie storytelling: it's endless elastic.
I used the research I did for ZOMBIE CSU to spin a novel, PATIENT ZERO, which is due from St. Martins Press in March, in which terrorists get hold of a weaponized version of a disease that can create zombies. Even though it's technically a zombie novel (with lots of zombie action), I built it on a mainstream thriller format, and as a result it'll be going out to the mass market. That means we'll be recruiting a whole new batch of zombie hunters!
Should be fun.
