Does destroying the brain or removing the head actually work?!? I was stuck in a battle with a zombie, i haven't been in many i usually push them down and run away, and i shot it in the head with one of my few precious bullets and it didn't die. I shot it towards the top of the head and a chunk of they're head flew off but it kept coming. Perhaps i missed the brain or didn't do enough damage? What is the reason for this?

Try for the base of the skull, near the brain stem... it should sever all or most of its motor functions rendering it incapable from moving from that point down...if done correctly destroy it all together.
Thank - You, i hope i never have to test that. But if I do i'll try my best to hit exactly there. But do you know of any reports of Zeds that could withstand that?
usually seems to work, remember that structurally nothing has changed , its still anatomically a human ergo its nerves are just as susceptible to damage a living member of the species... at least it should be.
The best way to take them out is to sever the spinal cord at the base of the brain. All the nerves in our bodies, even the ones that control face and jaw movement, goes to the spinal cord then to the brain. The only excption is, I think, the occular nerves. Sever the spinal cord at the base of the brain ( ie. break the neck at the base of the skull) and the zombie, or anything else, will be permanantly neutralized. This is also why "eating a bullet", or putting the barrel in ones mouth is concidered an efficiant method of self-termination.
it would seem that you have to obliterate the brain completely maybe the virus that causes zombification resides near the brain stem. Our lab macabre is trying to identify causes of zombiedom (check out our outbreak)
