The entertainment industry, the birth mothers of the zombie subculture, like to glamorize the badass zombie hunter with all the gizmos and whatnot, but is having a lot of gear really the best option to survival in an actual zombie apocalypse? Or is being practical and only taking what serves as a better advantage and what works for the individual better for survival? This poses the good ol' boy scout saying, "Always be prepared!", but prepared with what?

You need the tools of the trade...a gun, a bladed weapon, a blunt weapon, and water...food you'll find along the way. A first aid kit might be nice too...
Lighter, socks and pocket knife (with tools).
Ahh, a few good additions...
Zig zags, porn and, a laser pointer...
Porn yes, laser pointer, maybe...might find some good uses for it...
Id like some type of stab ress. Kevlar sleeves and chaps for the 4 most vulnerable spots of my body.
And maybe a brick of C4 in my side pouch if things are looking really grim xD
Well i'm going to go over my entire survival kit. For lightwieght but durable clothes I would have combat boots, they are tough and watertight for travel through rough terrain. Black skinny jeans with knee pads for protection, and skinny jeans are tight and hard to grab on, I would have on a tight fitting shirt with a pistol holster and gun magazine pockets to fit any extra mags, Some shoulder and elbow pads, always good to have protection you don't know what might happen, I would also have on some leather gloves for better grip on things and hand protection. On my face I would wear a ski mask and some sun glasses to keep zombie blood from splattering in my eyes or mouth, even though thier blood would be quagulated you never know, always be prepared. I would wear a durable goood sized but lightwieght backpack to hold my gear, some stuff I would have with me would be, canned food, bottled water, Crank up flashlight, lighter, Crowbar, First aid kit, A change of clothes, a pillow, and the like. As for my weapons I would need a blunt weapon, my crowbar, A machete for my bladed weapon, And I would bring my .22 PPK pistol, .22 round is cheap, comes in large quantities, very light, and Is very common all around so It wouldn't be hard to find. I also have a .45 M1911 pistol, the round is big and heavy and drops pretty fast but hey, its better than nothing. My Sub-machinegun uzi with a silencer and red dot site with 2 extra mags and of course firing the very common and easy to find 9mm round. My survival kit is lightwieght and easy to carry around and sence my and my team would be biking we would need our survival kits to be as light as possible.
You'd take a pillow? Really?
Um, why not? Who knows where you are going to be sleeping, honestly, Comfort is a moral booster. Your going to need as much of that as possible in a zombie apocolipse situation.
my pillow just so happens to be my shoe.
general gear: carbine and pistol that share ammo, bladed weapon, crowbar as ablunt weapon, tools, a good knife, torch light, flint, wool socks, combat boots/hiking boots(waterproof) pants (kevlar fiber jeans) gloves/gauntlets(leather or kevlar) long sleeve shirt, for moisture, fleece or jacket, if its cold, and a backpack
One can be prepared for a large amount of situations with a minimal amount of gear and some ingenuity. I personally will be going out with the lightest amount possible without sacrificing neccicary gear. It's the commando in me.
