Note: This is a theory which i will believe in until proved otherwise. (the oxygen part is a theory, it is science that parasites like to multiply.)

Okay, my cousin james, is a believer now, we found one.....it was one of the cement oklahoma zombies. The other two are dead, and this one....is almost gone....we realized that solanum, is a parasitic virus, and parasites like to spread, which causes zombies to attack others, so the parasite can multiply......about zombies not needing oxygen, they do, but the virus is constantly multiplying, and this duplication process feeds off the body, which is where it gets the oxygen from, so basically they get oxygen from the waste to enabling them to survive underwater......we will continue our observations.

we submersed the zed's head underwater (he was restrained) of course he was fine, then i started to ask why.... this is just a theory, i should have mentioned that....
.....he was a zombie! we gotta get rid of him anyway....i just dont know if i can do it....in a life or death situation i would but....i cant do it myself....
oh crap oh crap, my cousin said the zombie got loose and he doesnt know where it is......this is bad....
Now i have a question. If someone who was normal and then infected, meaning they died and came back. And had oxygen going straight into them. Pure oxygen from a tank. Would there memories and brain mass not be destroyed by the whole dying thing/solanum virus
ugh, sorry i havent been replying, we have been looking for the rogue zed for awhile.
Pictures or, LIES.
OR a video would also be nice.
yea, that is so easy considering that he is gone, and before you ask why i didnt take some before, just consider a few things. 1. i was stressed, as a zombie was right the fuck there 2. We needed to get rid of it, and since the goverment doesnt believe in zombies, i could have very well been charged with murder, and if i was and i were to say i did it because i believed what the zombie survival guide says the book's writer could get sued. 3. I am 15, and i have never actually been that close, i was freaked out, my cousin was the only one who interacted, i just watched.
so doubt if you want, but keep it to yourself jerk, it was scary and i have gone for a walk in awhile, you stay with a zombie for a few hours and try not to feel scared.
.....no
Just to be clear here: A virus is not a parasite. A virus is a virus. A virus spreads by injecting it's DNA into a healthy cell. The cell then produces thousands more of the virus and bursts. Ever get the a hot flash when you're sick? That's millions of your cells exploding.
There are plenty of viruses that are anaerobic. Meaning they do not require oxygen. Before you make any presumptions about the z-virus, you need to understand basic microbiology.
The reason zombies don't need oxygen is because they are dead. No respiration, no need to oxygenate cells. Be thankful that is the case. If the undead did breathe, they would renew their cells and keep "living." Then we'd be in BIG trouble.
Don't get me wrong here, I'm not giving you shit. Just don't want to see you get yourself killed theorizing on something pointless. If you're going to experiment on zeds, do us all a favor and start seeing how much/how little effort it takes to destroy the brain.
The solanum virus shares characteristics with both rabies and distemper. Unlike either though, it initially attacks both the circulatory and lymphatic systems, affecting the brain within 24 hours. Flu-like symptoms may begin to manifest within an hour of infection. Studies now indicate that aggressive or manic states may be activated at this time as well. There is also indication that the virus may be transmitted through sexual activity during this incubation period.

It seems that the main immunological battlefront is fought in the brain, with the virus attacking brain function with fever. The Parietal lobe is the first to suffer damage, affecting voluntary motion. Next to go is is the Occipital lobe. Then comes the Cerebellum, and with it's loss goes the ability to make rapid movements, to speak clearly, and fine motor skills. Finally comes the coup d' etat with a simultaneous attack against the Cerebral cortex and brain stem, destroying cognitive ability, memory, heart & respiratory function, and well, life. The infected has now entered the prodromal phase, and is reanimated.

In post-animated subjects, the temporal lobe shows little damage, and the amygdaloid region of the brain is curiously hyperactive, indicating that the aggression center is being stimulated. fMRI scans on transitional infected subjects indicate that this scan becomes increasingly ineffective as the disease progresses due to lack of oxygenated blood. However, when oxygenated blood is introduced into the subject's oral cavity, there is a near instantaneous resurgence of neural activity registered. It is suggested that since the reanimated have no digestive function, there must be some as yet unknown mechanism of osmosis that transmits oxygenated hemoglobin to the brain. It is further speculated that the need for oxygenated hemoglobin is what triggers the impulse to consume living flesh.

As of yet we have no cure, no vaccination for the virus. I do however have a theory that if the brain can be cooled enough to prevent hyperpyrexia, the body may be able to suppress the virus and therefore avoid the subsequent death and reanimation. A vaccine might then be made. If anyone wishes to volunteer and can make it to our Arctic compound....
