If you think about it, there is not much acess to highly powerful weapons such as m16 and like a desert eagle. What would be some good house items to use?!?! I would think my lawn mower would work well if i modified it somehow.

In a pinch one of the various garden tools from my shed would do pretty good against a zombie skull. And to forgotten Freshness, mossberg isnt a type of shotgun, its just a brand. Any shotgun with a modified or full choke would be good for zombie slaying, to much of a spread would be like throwing bbs and is basically pointless. And slugs are high in recoil and arent stocked as often as buckshot and birdshot.
Hmm... shotgun would be one of my top picks imo why does stupid Big5 have the fence for their store --"

and a lead pipe sounds kinda weak compared to a metal baseball bat.

can you electricute a zombie??? o.000 i was thinking about throwing live bait in a pool, get on the roof, and when a bunch of zombies go in i fry them with a toaster or something
I think the simplest kinda weapon that nearly anyone could get is merely a piece of wood. But you have to craft it right.

try to find a piece of wood about an inch thick at least. If possible, a fairly straight, sword like piece of wood...
Try shaving one edge down to make a sharp almost blade like quality..

And for best results, use a light fire, and singe the piece of wood, not enough to turn it to ash, but enough to burn it. This creates a chemical reaction that strengthens the wood, making it very hard...

And viola, your own wooden sword.... if you have to time and motive to make it.
I surround myself with obtainable weapons, henceforth, I am an obtainable weapon.
As soon an outbreak occurs (which wouldn't be close to me) I'm heading to wal-mart and buying stuff on my zombie survival list and 3 rifles, 1 .22 pistol, and 1 shotgun.
walmart has stopped selling guns
haha not here...
do it now, so you have time to sight them in, and get familer with them.
i agree im never more than 5 ft from something
nobody's mentioned a sledgehammer or crowbar. hmm was i gone when the zombie organization declared them bad ideas? im serious not insulting anyone. i think they're pretty good ideas. perhaps a little hammer too, for close range. Plus they have other non-zombie-killing purposes that might come in handy, like lifting heavy stuff, destroying staircases, or hammering nails (you never know ok? lol). And i do believe most everyone owns them. I think they're ok. Right?
The crowbar is one of the best improvised weapons available for fighting zombies. Not only will it open a skull but doors and crates as well.
IN TEXAS YOU CAN BUY ALL THOSE GUNS FAIRLY EASILY. GO TOA MILITARY SURPLUS AND BUY A ISSUE MACHETE.
