If you think about it, there is not much acess to highly powerful weapons such as m16 and like a desert eagle. What would be some good house items to use?!?! I would think my lawn mower would work well if i modified it somehow.

I love living in Texas, everyone is armed, guns are plentiful and with an abundance of hunters around, plenty of good marksmen
another good but over looked weapon is well, zombie parts. say you blow off a infected zombies arm and the sucker keels over. take the arm and use it against the other undead. you have a unlimited supply! you bash the one arm your using into mush, grab and yank another from a corpse and use that one. also molotov cocktails are easy to make and would work well against small groups.
The only thing that is worse than zombie is zombie on fire. Think about it.
I live in Michigan, gun are everywhere
Amen
sharpend pool cues as spears
Well being I have a small arsenal I am not too worried about not having firearms. However for improvised weapons I would say a good axe with fiberglass handle would be great. Or a length of chain with a very heavy padlock would make a good improvised fail.
I got quite a few ideas with houshold wepones such as a decapitation line wich is basicly a trap consisting of 5 strads of barbed wire all secured to a point A and B that would decapitate a few zombies or at least slow em down so i can get my 12 guage
thats why you live in texas. we all have guns
I am armed to the teeth when it comes to wepones and firearms i am able to literaly make something deadly outta something harmless
shovel
There are weapons all around one if they're creative enough to utilize them. Sitting in my room I have the ability to 'fashion' atleast 3 viable weapons and two real weapons.

A decorative sword from a Ren Fair. A staff which could be whittled(sp?) to have a sharp end. A wooden pole holding hangers and clothes in my closet. A standing flouescent light pole which can be harvested for wire and the obvious blunt edged weapon. A ceiling fan while not great on it's own will give any polearm a decent push back extension with enough ductape and brace.

Usually makeshift weapons won't stand up to strained use but will provide great temporary or defensable items.
