their is possible hope but if their are carriers we cna possibly supress the virus and end this hell

Total immunity to any disease is possible (I'm pretty much living proof of that). If there were to be a carrier that didn't show the symptoms, and the specific property that allowed the immunity were to be isolated...going off topic. But yes, natural immunity to solanum is a distinct possibility. Even if there was not a total immunity, partial immunity could probably be created artificialy in a controlled environment, by exposure to extreamely small ammounts of solanum.

ok, in those movies solanum wasnt the problem, it would really depend on whAT exactly it was, and who made it. but sure its possible. look at the black plague, thousands died horribly but some servived, even doctors who were around them every single day.

Don't forget, we still have no cure for HIV, cancer or the common cold.
I think the key to finding/creating an immunity hinges on whether or not civilization survives an outbreak. Almost all scenarios for an outbreak end up in global infection. As soon as social order falls apart, the chances of having a team of virologists successfully working on a cure greatly diminishes. Our best hope is that some government agency somewhere is doing the right thing now and working on a cure.
I'm afraid I don't hold out much hope for that.

While the chances of a gov. agency actually doing something useful is low, all that you would technichaly need would be a group of carriers. Those who are immune to the virus would produce anti-bodies that would help combat the virus, which could then be extracted, and made into a cure/vaccine for those already/not infected. This is all, of course, not taking into account variations to the virus due to natural mutation.
