Clearly there are trends for specific film series of zombies, time periods and such. So, the question is, which do you think is the most interesting?

The newer trends of the fast moving zombies? The older, shambling zombies? Zombies that groan "braaaains"? Or zombies that aren't even technically dead? Discuss.

Well, since I have always been one for nostalgia, I prefer the older, shambling zombies that groan "brrAAAaaaaAaIIiins". It's not that I don't find the newer trend of the fast moving zombie to be ineffective, they just don't seem as realistic. Since, as you just told me in person, "they're decaying people". Lawlz. I mean, don't get me wrong, the fast blood/brain-driven zombies are scary as fuck, but they don't seem realistic in a sense.
My personal favorite style of zombie are the Romero variant. Their shambling and tendancy to be found in large numbers make them delightfully ominous. And yes, Runners are terrifying, but they just lack a special pinache. Runners belong in some scenarios, while shamblers in others. I propose we mix them; runners are fresh zombies, newly reanimated, while shamblers are older, more decayed zombies.
Yea, as much as it is nice to start up your own forum, many times theres already multiple ones on the same topic,
but either way i perfer the older style ones
My favourite ones are the ones discribed in 'The Zombie Survival Guide' they are technically living but controlled purely by a virus, the virus grows a small organ in the brain that somehow can produce enough energy to give the zombies movement without the need to breath or feed. The virus its self is always secreeting a coat around the body so it rots very slowly, they seek only to feast on human flesh, not animal (the virus kills animals on contact), and have no desire for brains but an instinct of the virus needing to spread. There instinct for human flesh is strong but they have no need for it, none of there organs other than the brain, eyes, ears and nose work. They can inflate there lungs but only to let out a load groan when they see a human acompanied by a tilting of the head. All instinct, perhaps to notify others.

They are slow and always randomly walking, they may group together but not on purpose, they decend on humans like a slow relentless flock there senses equipped to find humans but are really, really stupid like slug stupid. In other words they're real shits and scientifically plausible.
Haha. Urban Dead player?
well if there are any real zombies i say bring it the fuck on im not going to be scared. i see one of those dead sons of bitches its going to be BOOM.LOL!
any body that feels the same will understand. i am ready if i see any!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well realistically when the apocalypse comes..I think that they can be both..when the person FIRST dies I think it makes sense for it to be re-animated and be fast at first but over a course of a couple days rigimortis would set in and the zombies would be slower and clumsy...and then start falling apart..so we'd have a nice combo of both!

i love surprises!
I'd rather my zombies be dead.
These pseudo-zombies really just don't cut it, if they aren't dead, then they're really just infected.

I prefer the Lucio Fulci zombies, rising out of the ground, worms spilling out of their heads.... It's beautiful.
my fav. it would have to be ..... a smart zombie, i just love a good hunt.
I prefer the brooks zombie.
slow moving zombies, not a fan of ones that crave brains, and the new one that are on crack at super speeds scare the shit out of me
The older shambling zombie flicks are creepy but the fast moving (running) are scarey as hell, in my opinion. The ones that groan "braaains" irritate me, although they are a bit amusing.
