So...how long do you think it takes after the bite to officially "Zombify"?

Some movies show the person slowly dying, then turning. Others show the person being bitten then 3 seconds later they go apeshit.

Also, i'm thinking the process is very itchy. Not sure why but i bet it's annoying as hell, especially if you had your arms pulled off.

I think that besides seriousness of the wound and wound location, another thing would be personal immunity, some people just have stronger immune systems and can keep the infection at bay longer (basically, an adult takes longer to infect than an older person or child) or how secondary transfer (like infected blood splatter) would take the longest since, there is no wound to split the immunity defense between normal germs and the zombie virus.
Just from my observations on other sicknesses....
1. Wound or "bite area" becomes inflamed (bright red, and bulgy)
2. most likely patient will become dizzy, and lose consciousness.
3. High fever, sweats, coughing, spasms.
4.Heavy coughing, throwing up, and most other bodily fluids coming out, possibly lose of bowel control.
5. Depending on wound, it could puss up and begin to leak (most disgusting thing ever!)
6. After about 7 hours of these, the person will become over heated, from dehydration, blood lose ,and other fluids.
7. Patient dies from overheating or total organ shutdown.
8.Hell can guess after

But that is normal sickness the virus itself could in act be a poison, or something meant to be fatal. I myself would bet it would react as infection.
So... the closer the bite to the brain the faster they turn, and how long the infection would take to kill the injured person. Health people seem to fight off the infection longer as the little girl in Night. However if the would is fatal the person would turn as soon as that person was dead as in Dawn. As for ingestion of infected blood i would say unless you have open wounds in your mouth No you cant be infected by mouth.
Not more than 4 hours from the time you're bitten ... I guess...
A virus or bacteria would flowing faster by blood through the heart but if it's contaminating your blood, I think it'll be a while before the infection turning you into something else besides human...

*Something like this pics perhaps ! :)
