In a situation where you need to aim fast, which do you think is better? ACOG or red dot?

For those who prefer red dot sights, consider the issue of parallax.
I use my EOTECH xps2 or Irons.
What about parallax?
Not familiar with Parallax.
People think that no matter where the dot is on any type of dot sight that you will hit the target every time. Parallax is when you move the dot to the edge of the sight and place the dot on the target and complete miss. I believe people think the sight is like a sniper scope which is parallax-free, but it isn't. Dot sights are like looking down a short tube. Every angle at which you try to look through the tube, you get a different picture. A sniper scope is like looking at a television screen, no matter what angle you look at it from, you see the same picture. I believe this is because light passes through internal concave lenses and hits the back lens like a projection screen. Dot sights don't have this, although, the lens on them are slightly concaved to help correct for parallax, but no completely.
Okay, heard of it but not by that name. Just by the explanation. Haven't experienced or tested it.
May not have much trouble with any dot sights if you can place the dot at the center of the sight easily. Although, there is still the possibility of sights being off target.
I rely on irons. The holo is a luxury. I rarely turn it on. It may end up on my AR pistol. I'm making head shots with Irons at over 100 yards, even with my old eyes.
Me, I would never use sights that have parallax. Then again, you don't even need sights if your instincts are good enough.
No Parallax with my EOTECH. Unless I was holding it wrong.

Did you move the dot to the edge of the sight?

I angled the sight around and it doesn't appear to move to the side. I'm gonna get it right now and check again.

Okay. I move the dot to the edge but the front site base and barrel are

still lined up. I no Parallax. The bullet hits where the dot points cuz the barrel moves with the dot. Unless I'm not understanding Parallax.

The EOTECH is my first optic other than a BSA scope on my .22lr bolt action. New to me but nice.
