Afterwards
The Apocalypse is over (for the most part) and the zombie hordes are no longer a big problem, how did you end up the way you did? Are you with a group or alone? Are they people you knew or got to know? and most importantly, what will you do now?
Scenario: The Z-poc destroyed the US (or wherever you live) government, and everything else, world population has decreased by 85% and all you have is either your group of survivors, yourself and you gear.
I want to know what you'll do now, how, with whom and with what gear that you've acquired during the Z-poc.
I'll tell you mine after a few of you go =D
Also, please try and be realistic, no building skyscraper cities protected by tanks...XD

Hmm well I'd come back to my hometown I'd like to think I'd be with my groups 4-5 friends, I have planned with.
Anyway my town is in the center between a army base, marine base, and a national guard armory, I'd pick the best for protection (most likely the army base) where we'd set up our home. I would try and get some people if we'd meet them on the road to come and join us (Not to just anyone). But for the time being we would work on getting weaponry and ammunition, then move on to trying to fix/hot wire the hummers (I'm not ganna touch the tanks until somebody has read the manual)
After we have vehicles (hummers, tanks, Bradleys, hopefully a chopper but doubt it), weaponry, and practiced defense on the base (zed or human). Then I'd set up a outpost in the Harvey house(railroad hotel) to watch the tracks, and have a scout check the highways every few hours, then start broadcasting not giving the actual address but somewhere close (I'm thinking making a building look as if somebody were in there, just to see how they react.) then hopefully I might get enough to rebuild my town . As for career I know it sounds deviant but I'd be the town leader, there would not be a democracy.

round up a few cattle and sheep, plant some crops and sit back on the porch whittlin and chewin t'baccy while the still bubbles away in the barn.

I don't think things could ever go back to normal, including yourself. The things you would've seen and had to do in order to survive will have changed you. Your weapon will have become an extension of your body and your companions are your second set of eyes.
I guess I'd just keep roaming.

Well I live quite near the Appalachian Mts. and I already have a spot picked out where I and a large group would build a walled community, not a city mind you think a medieval village; small, self contained, etc. Once the Zpoc was over we would probably just try and expand on what had been built, perhaps with a little less fear, but not much; when the zombies are all gone man is free to become the dominate monster yet again.

Depending on who is left of my party, I'd purpose making a solitude settlement somewhere not touched by civilization yet.
If not i( or us) would probably wander about in search of an establishment of living peoples

I would most likely never go back to my birth/hometown, because it would never be that same. There would be too much memories. I will be with a big group of people, no children among them yet, just a few woman who got pregnant before or during the outbreak.
Besides the people who I found, or who found me, I found a lot of drugs (medicine's), cigarettes (but there almost gone), ammo and guns.
I live on a island with the other survivours, we've planted some trees, but still no luck with getting fruit on it. We gathered the seeds and such a long the way. We managed to make some houses, but we still need to find some animals who can provied us with milk and wol maybe even meat.
So now and then a zombie walks on the other side of the water that surrounds the island. One of the guys is always on guard (the have shifts) to shot the zombie before it walks/falls into the water.
B ut it was back to basics, everything is still primitieve, but we will manage.

I would find a nice quiet place to live and settle down with the girl that i managed to pull through the apocolypse but i would never stop sleeping with a knife under the pillow
