ok correct me if i am wrong however in an episode of the walking dead a horse was eaten (the first season when he became stuck in the tank).

so if the horse was just bit by a zombie and actually got away would it have turned into a zombie horse... lets discuss this.

i don't see why not... a horse can die so why would't it be able to be "un-dead" i'm sure the infection would affect it just the same as us.

ok so we are rolling. what about spreading by mosquitoes? what about carnivorous animals... from a zoo perhaps... zombie lions?

holy crap zombie lions!?! I've never really thought about zoo animals bein zombies. Maybe like a zombie cat or dog or something. I figure if zombies get ahold of an animal their just gonna eat em up.

Usually, the author is allowed to come up with the rules so, sometimes yes and sometimes no. In zombie apocolypse they had zombie dogs and lions as well as return of the living dead with the half-dog and butterflies. Other zombie flicks like dawn of the dead, dogs were left alone and not eaten. So, the rules come from the author.

I seriously doubt it. As I understand the disease, its only tuned to the human anatomy and physiological states. If this is the case, the disease will likely kill any animal that is infected because it's attempting to tune the animals body to the human state, but it's too stressful on the animal, so it ends up killing the creature from the stress.
