Of course I believe in the living-dead. If I didnt, Id not be on this site!

But still...scientifically plausable.
Campion Virus, named for Charles D. Campion I presume.

Permalink Reply by Glagnar Humangrind on February 23, 2011 at 2:19am No there are no such things as reanimated corpses shuffeling about. When the brain dies the tissue dies in it. That means that the electrical impulses cannot move about in the nervous system. Also the brain needs a constant supply of blood. "Pumped from the heart" to keep the tissue in the brain alive. If the blood supply is cut off the tissue will gradually die. So if you die and your heart stops the brain cannot function. And learning from metallica videos? What!? When can you ever learn about anything in music videos? that´s just... dumb... Anyways! When the blood supply as i said is cut off the tissue in the brain will die. Also the nerves will die gradually as decomposion and the couagulation of blood sets in The muscles will begin to harden and then rot away making it impossible to move about. So when you die the heart stops making the brain die the nerves die and the muscles begin to rot the blood will coagulate making rigor mortis set in. "Corpse stiffness" Ofcourse if you for example are a drowning victim or if you freeze to death you can be revived within about 8 minutes "depending on you body temprature the timespan may vary" Nothing in this physical world we live in can regenerate brain tissue at a rate that could revive a dead person. But it has been proven in recent studies that the brain can slowly repair itself by regenariting new braincells but it does so in such a slow rate that it really has no impact on the person suffering a braindamage. Also when the brain dies important functions such as balance and sight also the sense of smell will be destroyed the upper cortex will die first. "In the upper cortex the sense of you belonging in your own body is located" also the frontal lobe will die. "the sense of you and you personality is located there" there are different centers in the brain for all bodily functions such as your heart beat and breathing. What people seem to be misinformed about is that these functions are located in the "reptilian brain" Wich is wrong.
So no there are no living dead it is physicly impossible.
I personally think it is sad to see how the education system can fail so many people that they actually believe that you can be brought back to life after you are dead.

Permalink Reply by Ron Salter on February 23, 2011 at 3:48am What I find sad is that the education system teaches that science can answer everything. Nearly every week we find out that some science we have been told is totally reliable turns out to be a crock of shit unloaded on the public for profit.A large percentage of scientists are employed by corporations, therefore they are owned and will say as they are told.Others are working on a thesis that will gain them fame and profit, again, how can the layman trust it?
We don't trust politicians and yet we trust scientists. Show me the science behind that!
However , the russian film was found to be faked I remember reading somewhere.

Permalink Reply by James McDonald on June 24, 2011 at 2:52pm Brother I agree with you 100% about what happens to a body when it dies. I was a army medic 4 yrs, and a civilian medic for 2 before I decided to go for my RN. Simple biology doesn't have a lot to do with the possibility of zombies, but chemicals that can make the body react do. There is remarkable research out there into regenerating tissues, and I believe thats possibly where zombies will come from if they ever exsist, or have exsisted.
I don't discount their possibilty. Ive seen things in the field that are very hard to explain. I once had a man hopped up on PCP run from a house and was shot by the police 38 times. When we got on scene he was covered in blood and in the worst shape I have seen anyone since my army days. He was sitting their talking to use. We packaged him for transport and he died in route. Come to find out he had taken 3 bullets through his heart, and at least 8 through his lungs. PCP kept him alive for 23 minutes. That all relates back to the biology, and chemical makeup of the drugs.
You say re-animation is impossible and yet animals have been re-animated if nothing else. Humans still don't truely understand what a dream is so how can we hope to understand what death is and if it is possible to come back. As you said the supernatural is a whole different side to it but you don't have to believe in the supernatural to know that science is constantly disproving itself. The trouble is that so much obvious fiction gets mixed in with simple truths that it is outlandish and laughable. Each person has to do the research, read the books and ignore things that are false accounts, like Max Brooks' book. A work of fiction of course. But there have been reports of re-animated dead all around the world ranging through all of history. In the "civilized" world we put so much faith in science and things we can explain. We won't except something as true unless science tells us it is. I don't need a scientist to tell me there is air for me to believe in it. I know that isn't exactly the same but it's the idea. Just because we don't understand how it happens now does not mean that it doesn't happen. I agree basing things of music videos or works of fiction and entertainment is crazy but there are too many other reasons to believe it. It sounds crazy sure, but so do people who talk about aliens and more and more people are begining to stop saying "no" and start saying "maybe" because there is enough evidence and reports to make them question what scientists have told them is true and nothing they haven't discovered exists. (No I don't believe in aliens but again, it's an example and the idea of it.)
