buying a book called zombie survival guide ive seen bits of it and it gives you good advice im going to make a plan in writen format for my local city and submit it to the local councal then i can say i least i tryed
Is that by Max Brookes? Good book

Let me know how the council reacts to your zombie plan....i'd like to see if they ignore it or pretend to be interested haha
yes it is and im guessing a bit of both
A lot of people seem to think the Zombie Survival Guide is some sort of bible to live by. It's not it has a lot of BAD advice in it, your better off reading general survival material, there a shit load of surviving doomsday type books on Amazon, at least most of their authors have some actual background in survival.

My house is reasonably secure, enough to keep out the living so it should keep out the dead,my weapons and food cache are covered, I could last 6 months on my food supplies. I have an evac plan and a destination and a couple of vehicles capable of doing it.
Now that is the kind of response I was looking for. Too many people think zombies or any kind of infection can not happen. They are wrong too many people are performing experiments with too many things for something drastic to go wrong. When it does many people are screwed because they didn't plan right. My house is a fortress I have a secure in home water source with over a years worth of canned goods and another five in mre's. My weapons cache is large and my ammo count is over 10k in a large mix of shotgun, handgun, rifle, and arrows. I am a trained shooter and hunter.
My real interest in Zombies ,aside from writing zombie novels, is that the addition of zombies to a real survival plan adds a bit of fun. Even if you take the zombies out of my stories they are warnings about apocalypse of a different and very real kind.
"If you are prepared for zombies, you are prepared for anything"
I find that very very true. My father got me started in getting ready for the worst, and I just built it up form there. Yes I know it borders paranoia or what ever people wish to call it. I just can not help but see something bad happening with everything that is out there.
By the way send me a web link for your books I will have to look then up.
There are plenty of ways to prepare. I and others have said it in numerous other posts and threads. In order to survive any disaster from hurricane, tornado, economic collapse to a Zpoc you should have a certain amount of readiness in your everyday life. This might sound paranoid to some but others it's common sense. Being prepared has been part of my life since before I was a Boy Scout 30 years ago. When I was a single digit midget I helped my dad reload bullets, strip a deer and pluck pheasant and grouse. I hunted 4 legged critters when I was a teen and changed over to 2 legged animals when I enlisted in the US ARMY at 17 and moved on to police work. My wife and I moved from the city to the burbs to where we belong and feel most comfortable, in the sticks. I am 38 miles from work, in the city, with several acres, horses and friendly neighbors. My personal shooting range is outside my back garage door. My reloading/gun shop is above my garage. I have a gas generator for the short term power loss. My place is heated by an outside wood furnace and I have 2 fireplaces inside. We keep a store of canned goods on hand. I have a number of firearms. the calibers don't vary much anymore. I did this on purpose. .45 acp, 45 colt, .22 lr, .223, 30/30, 12 gauge and 1 .40 S&W. 6 of my 7 horses are ridable. the 7th is retired but can go if needed.

Prepared can be a talking point, a hobby or a lifestyle. It's everyone's personal choice.
Agreed. I sadly don't have a 22 anything I stayed with higher caliber weapons. My main stay weapons that I shoot almost everyday are my kimber classic 45, my standard 12 guage mossburg, my m14, and last but not least my favorite the greatest co
ant rifle ever made the m1 grand. When I hunt I use my Winchester model 110 savage left handed bolt action with a leopold 10x scope.
