ok me and a friend had a discussion about barricading themselves in a building. im fifty fifty about it, given the ammount of supplies, weapons and everything else would be a big factor. my friend thinks that barricading is the key to survival, but it also serves as a trap. does anyone else agree?
but if you have like a tunnel or a bridge leading to a different building, or maybe you could do what will smith did on i am legend and set explosives everywhere
Personally I would just find a flat with reinforced doors. Its high off the ground, plus it has only one entrance. Easily defendable, almost impossible to overrun. Of course you would need to solve a problem with an escape route, but i think its possible to work something out.
im just iffy on the subject thats all, if encountering a hoard of undead, the last thing you need is to stay in one place. i would rather gather supplies and weapons, wait out the night and then keep moving in the morning. if you can wait for a evac from that point, then wait there. but if their is no sign of a evac, i would prefer to move until you can make contact with either the military or a militia at least.
How much food/water/ammo/medical supplies do you have or can you put in this building?
How many of these supplies will you have to bring in and how many are already available in the structure?
Is there running water?
Are there toilets or some sort of sanitary facility?
How many points of entry are there in the building? You will have to secure these or man these effectively.
How close is the building to other buildings?
Im in favor of a homebase, but I also think that options get exhausted after time. Best to remain mobile but choose a base wisely.
