I feel the same way about "smart" zombies. While I don't want them "mindless" (They should all have that calculating one track mind set on killing), Smart zombies usually ruin the movie for me. When I saw zombies calling in for more paramedics in Return of the Living dead 2??? I honestly didn't even feel like finishing the movie. I love straight up zombie comedies but I don't like zombies being the comedic relief in a film where they should be feared. I'd rather have the survivors make the jokes. Ex. If you saw a zombie in 28 Days Later pop and locking, would you still find them to be terrifying? Hilarious? yes, Scary? no way

I can't really say my fave's in order, but Cemetery man would be one of the top and maybe fido, although a zom/com its still great. And I know some of you guys really seem to like the RE series but I just don't see how, the games were some of the greatest ever, been a huge fan since the first one came out but IMO the movies took great games and totally destroyed them into some over flashy hollywood garbage (as what happens with 90% of the game to movie genre) but as I said, just my opinion.

You know what I'm tired of? I'm tired of new movies needing to evolve a classic, no strike that, THE most classic horror character there is...
day of the dead remake should be the first to be burned, they did everything wrong, and tried to create something that shouldn't have. I mean, come on, instant transformation from rather healthy looking human, to I've been dead 3 months looking zombie? WTF?!? And while running away from the town, they just happen to find ground zero of the outbreak, which is controlled by a super zombie? Let's not forget about the big boom theory. That explosion would have killed all of them, not just anything in front of them...The movie quality was great as was the makeup, but everything else was terrible...

the remake (day of the dead) was definately shit! i made the unfortunate mistake of buying it before i watched it. I got halfway through it and threw it in the garbage... but I guess everyone has their own take on zombies, i guess.

George Romero's "Diary of the Dead". Very cool effect of all the footage being home movie style through a motion pictire quality camera+deeper character builds through the story (unlike most zombie flicks). its much easier to relate with this movie being a survivor

hoenstly, to save RE from anymore horrible stories, they should just stop making them.
how they ended the third one (i unfortunately watched it as the previous two...) just made want to bitch slap the writers of the flick. a clone fuckin' army of alice, WTF?! not cool! no way they can degrade such a kick ass game series this way!
house of the dead just broke all the good rules of survival....yet they had a shit ton of guns but they still fail. most of the characters where scared nearly to death up until the coastguard people showed up, then everyone was like one stone faced squad of milita, loading up weapons like they already knew how to operate them....
{shrugs} oh well, gotta have your cheap as hell moments, right?
