So i know this discussion is frequent and has a never ending "pro's and Con's" type arguement.

But Personally I believe the 12 gauge shotgun shell system is the best to consider in a survival situation, and the 45acp is the best side arm.

I used a list of factors to come up with this conclusion.

Reliability: The remington 870 variant pump action is my personal favorite because its well known for its simplicity and reliability in a combat situation. The Colt 1911 45acp is also known for both things.

Damage: The 12gauge shell is well known by all zombie hunters to be devastating against those "groaning bastards" But there's also a worl of different types of shells that you can utilize for a shotgun, turning it into a multipurpose killing machine, that can operate at distances up to 80 yards.

its also very easy to relaod the rounds, which is a plus to any gun enthusiant.

The 45.acp round is well known for having significant stopping power which is a necessity when youre dealing with crazed flesh eaters, and also is easy to reload.

Functionality: The 870 model shotgun has many variants and can be modified and utilized to any need whether it be CQC or medium range combat, if you need a longer range, you need a specialized weapon.

the 45. is going to put down anything that comes at you, whether its a head shot or not, its going to at least slow it enough to put down a few more rounds.

and the 45.glock holds 13 rounds, which cuts out the capacity con of the 45.acp

so guys, lets hear YOUR ideas and prefferances?

Depends on how reliable the reloads are. I use mine for practice now. Once my loads get more reliable I'll begin to use it more.

I'll probably just reload. I hear the steel casings don't seal as well brass casings.

ohh... .308 is what I own in a semiautomatic, and I havent shot the gunsite, if you get it I'd love to hear what you think of it

I like whatever I have on hand, saying "I'm going to use a tank and a minigun!" sounds retarded enough even if you do thave them, but few people do, my current combo is a large hacking knife and a CETME

Im very capable with a knife or whatever i have on hand, but being realistic, no mortal being can handle more than 3 targets at once in a hand to hand scenario, and if you can, you preffer not to. The idea of a blade only works as a last resort. I mean, id preffer Chuck Norris on my zed hunter team way before i pick a sharpshooter, i mean, Who wouldnt? lol

I'm a Kung Fu hop gaah and pak hok pai guy so I know how to fight multiple targets in close quarters, one of the things I want to try on a zed is the brain shake move they taught us, because it causes you to tand there for about five seconds about as aware as a zombie, so If I ever get the chance with a captured zed I wanna try it, and as to the knife, the knife is there when there's one or two and I need quiet, I can't have a handgun in my state yet, too young, so I have the knife
