Always use distance as a tool - height of tops of buildings, vehicles, hills - always try to take the higher ground - bows and arrows, guns, sling shots, catapults, gas and battery acid motovs, boobie traps,(like deep pits with pikes or anything exploding) throwing knives, etc. just make sure you know how to use the weapon in order to make it count.
If I am going hand to hand, anything very sharp or long that is at least over an arm's lenth - chains, nails on a stick, knife on a stick, home-made mace, big long kick ass, Zombie slicing machete (at least 18" blade), wooden or metal pikes, baseball bat + personal short rambo knife if they ever get that up close and personal.
