I wouldn't be the first to try it. Most believe that it is highly toxic.
Try it and let us know.
Would you cook and eat someone who was HIV positive? It's the same concept.
Umm.... no...

First we don't know if the virus will die by heating it up....It could very well survive it....

Plus, the body has been rotting for God knows how long, why on earth would anyone want to consume that? It's human meat, no less.....

I wouldn't consider it.
good point i didnt even think about that
OK here is what I have to say. If I see one human eating another human they are catching some lead. Zombie or cannibal doesn't matter to me. Zombies eat us because that's their motivation. A human eats another human as a matter of choice. Yeah there have been some situations where people have been stranded and had nothing else but in a post ap or Zpc there'll be enough food without resorting to cannibalism.
1. Most zombie viruses allow at least a small amount of decay
1.2 Even cooked decayed meat is toxic
2. The virus may have a higher heat tolerance than the infected flesh
2.2 It may cause the "Eater" to become zombified
2.3 May cause "Eater" to become sick, and either directly (fatally ill) or indirectly (reduces their capacity to fend for themselves) cause their death
3. Some zombie viruses cause the flesh to become toxic even if the heat "kills" the virus (viruses aren't technically considered "alive")
4. Humans aren't designed for cannibalism and so we can get very sick just from eating healthy, non-diseased human flesh (think mad cow disease for people)
5. Someone that desperate might not cook the flesh thoroughly, or possibly not at all
5.2 Could leave zombie virus "alive"
5.3 Might "kill" the zombie virus but leave other bacteria/viruses/parasites alive or intact enough to infect "Eater" (if the zombie virus does leave others alive (some do, some don't))
5.4 If another survivor sees you eating something even vaguely humanish, you're getting a face full of lead.

So, if absolutely wanted, or needed, to, it's theoretically possible if you cooked it thoroughly. However, I would literally recommend eating your own foot, insects and/or random, edible-looking plants before even thinking about eating a zombie. Some zombie viruses may be safe to eat after cooking, but it's not worth the risk. I would rather be alive and starving than dead (or undead) and full.
Don't even think about it. Solanum has proven to be highly toxic and, despite popular myths, causes permanent death rather than zombification. Also, the human psyiology is not designed to ingest raw meat or proteins.
