I'm wondering if the zombies we're using for this story follow the pattern of freezing in winter or are they still functional in the cold?

I think they will be able survive in winter. They aren't really alive, so I don't think they require heat to keep them going.

cold blooded animals and reptiles hibernate because they cant move in the winter......

counts for dead things

you could ask in the group http://www.lostzombies.com/group/thecampionvirus

i asked it once but it was blown off

I did a blog on this, and yes they were functioning.  However, they were frozen solid.
From what's been written about the C-Virus, it would seem that the Runners are still alive while the virus takes over their bodies, only to physically kill them at then reanimate. At this early stage, would they still be subject to something like hypothermia? Assuming they were, one would thing that would eventually kill them, and if it was cold enough, they would freeze and then thaw out as shamblers.
