Would anyone consider crossing their country's borders to escape the infection (before the infection had spread, assuming) or are we all kind of focused on staying in our own home territory?

I don't know about you all, but I'd love to see some Mexican zombies down south, because it seems like the majority of zombies reflected in popular culture are whites and/or Americans, with the exception of the 28 Days/Weeks later movies....but they were also almost all lily white.

What about Canada? Millions of miles of open range with only the teeniest possibility of meeting anyone infected. Probably a good stronghold, right?

It'd be nice to hear from some people living in Europe on this topic.

I'd end up shooting people because I didn't know what they are saying and didn't want to wait and figure out if they are runners or not. You are not biting my face Juan!
Yeah, If you lived in Europe, just come into Russia, there is 17,000,000 square kilometres of land. but remember

Most of Europe live in..SUN. many people would come into Siberia, unprepared and freeze to death. plus Russia would take the bulk of the Chinese and many other countries infections, so, but Siberia is always cold and freezing temperatures, so zombies would freeze and not amaken.

But as many would say, Governments won't be around, trust me, the Russian Government has its own fallback plan and will survive, meaning, don't fuck with Russia, or your going to freeze or cope a bullet.

The only people to survive Siberia would be the Russians and or Northern Chinese folk because they know how to live in the cold.
What about an Alaskan from the US? I'd assume they'd have the same cold tolerance as a Russian.
2 billion poeple in china, thats alot of infected. i'd stay as far away from china as possible
Does anyone know what the ratio is in the united states when it comparing the number of guns to people? Yeah, nowhere else in the world are you going to have that great a ratio. Now imagine an outbreak where 75-80% of the population isn't going to use those guns. Stay in the states, and keep moving. Find a vehicle, make sure you can drive plenty far, and keep going.
There will be plenty of guns and ammo at first. I'm still for a safe zone and I won't be going overseas. I'll stick to what I know best.
What I'm trying to say is that most places in the world don't allow the average citizens to own weapons...There's no such thing as a gun shop out here in Germany...at least I haven't seen one...
I sympathize with you. Many nations have doomed their citizens by not allowing them to protect themselves. Many politicians in the US try it but are stifled by the citizens and constitution.

Well you aren't all together helpless. I believe there are weapons factories in Germany where they make guns and export them. I don't know how close you are to Austria but Glock still has a factory there too. I hope these places aren't over run by zombies.

If you don't have the option of going to one of the firearm factories in your nation then you'll have to be inventive. Necessity breeds invention. Anything is a weapon. I believe there are high-powered air-rifles all over Europe. I may me wrong. A .177 caliber or .22 caliber pellet or slug traveling at 1400 feet per second at a close range is devastating. There are videos on YouTube that show how to make your own survival bow from some saplings and strong twine. They aren't a permanent weapon but can be helpful in a pinch. Plus there are so many videos on making pipe bombs and such. Explosions may not be the best way to stop a zombie but it can slow them down and give you the distraction needed to bail out. Adhere some ball bearings to the outside of your bomb and the shrapnel can do some real damage.

In your situation I would think that moving around and crossing the borders can be helpful. Just like anywhere else, avoid large urban areas.

Oh, I'm not worried...You know being active duty and what not...I've got access to what I need. But that's the extent of my knowledge of guns around these parts...there's here in Geilenkirchen, down to spangdahlem, and on to Ramstein. I think I may muster enough ammo to make it back to the states...or maybe russia...I think they have a lot of guns...
I'm excited about that. What's the timeframe for its release?
Holy shit thats some cool looking art. But by then there won't be a force to stop them there will be way mroe zombies than humans.

World War Z: Bourne with Zombies

World War Z screenwriter J. Michael Straczynski spoke with MTV about the plans for his adaptation of Max Brooks' best-selling novel now that he's finishing another draft for recently attached Quantum of Solace director Marc Forster.

It's clear Forster and company are not making the typical zombie movie. "Most zombie movies to this point have been small, focusing on a few people in a house. And this has got real scare. You're in India with hundreds of boats trying to get out of there with a tidal wave of zombies. The scale of what we're doing here is phenomenal," said Straczynski. "We talk about it as a thriller, the closest comparison being 'The Bourne Identity.'

Does this mean a shotgun blast to head will be replaced by a rolled-up magazine to the head? We'll have to wait and see, World War Z starts production in early 2009.
