You wake up at your normal time and are getting ready for work / school / or whatever it is you will be doing that day. You flip the tv on to check the weather and every channel is broadcasting the zombie outbreak. From where the closest outbreak is to where you are is about five miles (you pick the direction). What are you going to do in your first day?

*state what time you usually get up, what you would wear, what you would take with you, where you would go, and who you would contact at a minimum please*

its still dark out at 630am, i have a pair of sweats on under my jeans for work (i get cold easy), with my broken in work boots on, a button up dress shirt on (work clothes), hooded windbreaker sweatshirt and i'd grab my long wool coat (wool will keep you warm even if its wet). i'd pack my satchel briefcase with caned food and 12 ga. shells, take my winchester pump with me. i'd grab a tomahawk from the garage and extra socks. While getting ready i would be on the horn with my family and make plans to meet them out at the maumee bay.
Kind of frightening to think about the first day.

I get up at 5:30AM because I go to the gym usually before going to university. Normally I'd just wear some cotton sweatpants and a short-sleeve shirt so to be ready to hit the weights once there. I guess this time the difference would be adding a sweatshirt.

I'd take my backpack and place inside my cellphone, my Bible, some food and water that I can grab, a crowbar (if we have it) or the axe in the back. I'd contact some close friends (the family would be home), and rush to a nearby gun shop to obtain some firearms if possible. Then I'd call my recruiter and see if there is a place my family and I could run to. If yes, then I'd go there. If not, then I'd stay home, perhaps go to our next door neighbors who have a huge house and much space, and help fix that up in preparation for the impending disaster.

Ideally, I'd like to be able to take the family to the university, which I think would be the safest close area around, but considering this is only the first day, I don't think it'd be feasible. Too many people.
Haha!, a bible! Like your gonna need it. OK, so after shitting a brick, I board up the house asap. Pitch a tent on the roof for safety's sake and fill every container I can find with water. Go knock on the neighbors door, then kick it in and take all their dry goods and guns. I like the idea of being on the roof, zeds can't climb well or at all. And probably use the old "cinder block tied to a rope" for dropping on zeds heads. Now, what about day 2?
only problem, if your neighbors do have guns for you to take, isn't it likely that they shoot you when you break the door down?

also, you dont have to be christian or even believe in the existence of god to get entertainment from reading the bible. it should keep someone busy for quite a while.
Well, I would take it because I am a believer and to keep any kind of sanity and hope I would need to read it.

Going through all of this, I would undoubtedly need it to bolster my faith.
For me, it'd be like 3 in the morning. I am the first one up in the house, and I get everyone else up. I'd still be in my jammies, but I would first break out with my hammer, and take out my steps to the front and side doors. They're wood steps, since we live in a mobile home. I'd block off windows, including taking out the A/c unit in the living room window, using furniture mainly, since there's only a couple windows that are actually at eye level or lower on our house. I'd start gathering up water in anything I can, filling the tub, coolers, sinks, etc. The hardest part for me would be keeping the dog quiet, since I could cover the bird with a sheet or blanket or something. The kids are all zombie-philes like I am, so they know what not to do when hiding from zombies. Taken care of for the short term, we'd then start planning longer term survival.
i would just skip school, if i heard of an outbreak. put on some jeans,my tac boots, under armor long sleeve, hoodie and then grab my backpack, filled with supplies, mostly for camping, seeing as it is illegal for me to currently own any firearms, i have several knives, a wood chopping axe and an e-tool, which is kept sharp. my friend owns a 4x4 suv, and several shotguns and 2 hunting rifles. me and him have agreed to meet at his house in case of emergency, it's at the top of a hill, in a relatively secluded area, with good cover.
Well it would be the crack of noon and i would put in a few quick i told you so calls to friends and family.
Then i would get dressed up in steel toes, jeans,t and sweat shirt, leather jacket, tabogon and my good old aluminum bat and walk a couple of blocks to the krogers.Kill a few zeds, look for keys with the auto unlock
feature on them and load up.Then its of to the gun store keeping my eyes open for people i want to survive with......(wolvish grin)
I don't sleep, so whenever they first broadcast it, I would see it.
I would gather up clothes, cell phone, and my computer, grab my friend down the hall, drive to my other friends dorm, kick in the window and get him in the car, drive to the ford dealership that my friend owns, snatch a super duty and drive to my friends house in a town down the road and all four of us will drive to my uncles house in the springs. There, where there are loads of guns and ammo, we will phone all the people who could be of use and then drive north.
I would be on here most of the way giving updates to everyone and creating a plan with all of you.
his dad, totally owns a dealership. he will totally hook you up. we're DRUUUUUNK!

name that quote
What state are you in...I was thinking of our local kroger, which I used to work at, so I am really familiar with it, and Was thinking it might make a decent haven, whether for short or long term I'm not sure. Provided the infection's major stuff happened at night when it's almost empty, I could seal it up fairly easily...
Well since I wake up and go jog every morning I'd probably be getting changed when it aired about6:30-7. So seeing that id probably start packing my hiking backpack. it would have ammunition for my rifle (a Remington 700) ammo for my 9mm and probably my 12 Gauge Shotgun and shells for that. that pack would be filled with ammunition. then id pack duffels with MRE'sand bottled water. I have a stash in case of hurricanes since i live in Florida. Second thing id be doing is calling the people i truly care about, Close friends and family. my Fiance would be packing her things and we'd take my Truck. Now where we'd go would probably be a problem. Theres not much high ground in florida so i would probably hold out at the towns airport. large airtower and a huge open area for my rifle. Not to mention no one lives near our airport since i live in a small town.
