different premise for a zombie game?

we've all seen and loved the resi series, both left 4 dead's and other zombie games revolving around you being almost alone in an overrun city. how could we do it different?

i was thinking you played as several people through the 'story', in different parts of the world, doing different things, e.g. one you could be a doctor in a hospital while infected people are being treated, others you could be a refugee being escorted out of a city, in amongst a huge group, maybe a PMC soldier on security detail for a vip entering or exiting infected areas?

what do you guys think should happen?
