editing software

i am an amateur director/ filmographer. i was just wondring if anyone could trade tips or info for a decent movie editing/ special effects software(s) that i could use.

I personally love sony vegas, platinum 8 is dirt cheap and will do everything apart from HD (version 9 does that) its easy to use and is fun to play around with too

Go to a slaughter house and get animal innards to stand in for human innards. That's what good ol' George A. Romero did for the first NOTLD, well that's if your making a zombie movie xD
